Gotta agree with not-blocked b'pole. Always attempt for good wine without the negative reaction

Mostly ok and the odd good one. Some woeful, but came unstuck last week with our charitable attempt at looking after struggling winemakers. Drinking partner had no morning reaction. My hangover was killer. Subscription cancelled

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

lets conduct a wine list in the other forum of all good wines.

i read where it's mostly the soil they grow in? so if you find a wine from an area/ region that's good – ie coonawarra, margs river have always been good to me – chances are all wines from that region will be good.

so far so good with that theory for me.

i tell you but, you mostly get what you pay for. I helped out a mate a coupla weeks ago and did a job for him, and on the weekend he dropped off a bottle of bin 389 – the poor man's grange; which is still $95 a bottle. and damn it was good. full buzz after 3 sips, that just continued into a full body stoned state of bliss which lasted for about 4 hours. shared the bottle with ann and was quite tapped out by the end of it. haha

next morning i woke up possibly sharper than if i didn't have the wine.

Son had the day off so we made a beeline for the promised land......Nth Beaches. Thought we might drop donuts on Carrolls front lawn but ended up paddling out at Nth Narra. Avalon was a bit closey outey. He had a better time than I did.

Left reef/point south of the gong. 3-4 foot with some bigger sets. Bit inconsistent and shifty at times but still a stack of walled up runners going 100metres

So The Gong is approx 90 klm south of Sydney. So 180 klm round trip for a surf?
Or are you on holidays?

From my recent surfs I would consider this short side trip.

Exactly. A 180klm 2hr round trip is nothing if you’re scoring decent waves.

South groundswells go to waste on the eastern beaches.

Try telling that to the clown above you though.

You know it loof. FFS with a south groundswell hitting the ESBs the question should be why aren’t you travelling. Not why are you.

Only possible excuse would be that your work is too inflexible, or your blood alcohol reading won’t legally allow you to get behind the wheel.

Nah, couldn't be stuffed. Went for a trawl yesterday but the northern beaches were lacklustre. You're the rabid wave hound Hatchie. Not everyone feels the need to leap in a car like you do. Surfing is a recreational activity for me. Nothing more...nothing less.

I understand Lakemba is stuffed in a southerly groundswell.

You hit the northern beaches in a south ground swell instead of hitting cronulla or down south?

Still haven't answered my question about doing this before work. I assume you would have most spots dialled in Hatchie since you spend half your life in the car.

I was having one of those shitty surfs today when nothing was coming together. Finally a lovely little 3ftr hit the bank right on key, as I was about to launch I hear this "MINE!!" and this old git proceeded to take off too deep etc..which is cool of course, but the MINE!! really gave me the shits. When he paddles back I asked him if we were playing cricket and calling a for a catch. Mine, fking mine. What a selfish expression.
