Ronnie Blakey's shirt has creases in it that suggests it's only just out of its cellophane wrapper. Is there are story in it? Spilled coffee? A Lewinski moment? Product placement?

Surfed me local, very inconsistent, only went out cause no one was out , but the swell stopped as I got out to the peak, after 30min 6 guys paddle out, basically told them they were idiots, why would you bother? but apparently it was okay cause one was the world champ, they confirmed they were idiots. In the end felt sorry for the champ having to put up with his new creepy friends,

Had fun yesterday. Kind of vowed not to go out today but it looked good when I drove down for a swim so I grabbed the foamy. Flags up. Ended up floundering around for ages. Waves were deceptively hard to catch. Finally got one absolute screamer plus a couple of okay other ones. Stuffed after paddling around. I'm really impressed with his foamy. Surprisingly agile.

So who’s going to be the first RS’er to say, I surfed Melbourne, Perth, Rockhampton or Homebush?

I particularly like “By introducing surfing to more people, by taking it inland, it means there’ll be more t shirts, more surfboards, more surfboard fins, more surf lessons, the whole industry it will allow to grow.”

Interesting for kids who grow up surfing surf parks then try to surf the ocean. Fun to watch.

Dunno how many “inland” parents are gonna wanna fork out $850 for a board for little Johnny to use in the surf park.

Would you need a top line board to surf something so predictable. I'm assuming there will be a bunch of pop outs for hire.

Surfed 5 of the last 8 days. I'd agree with that Summer comment surf wise. But it will turn soon. Trying to get a little fitter for when it gets better. Focussing on a couple of boards as well.

Me too. Surf has been average at best....pretty ordinary mostly but Ive been hitting it pretty much every day for the last three weeks. Trying for the odd day off to give my shoulders a rest. Upped my range of other exercises and diets right on track. Moderating my intake of craft beers.

Last sentence. Red wine is a great substitute

Nah, really not enjoying the effects of wine much these days. Tastes good but it's a lottery as far as negative reactions to the additives.
