Surfed an offshore break on the SUP, first time I ever got it to actually surf like a mal.
2ft, 100m rides. Lots of water movement, my GPS watch said the current was 5.2km/h.
Saw 11 sharks.

Then this afternoon in some nicely shaped thigh-high point waves with fuschia all crowd.
Kids both stood up on the new boards, way earlier than I expected. Think the swimming and acrobatics lessons must have helped.

Actually I used to surf with a bloke who was in the English junior gymnastics team as a kid and he'd do cartwheels and backflips on a longboard.

Fun crystal clear peaks chest to head high
Felt good to complete a few waves That didn't close out

Mid bank. Knee to waist high with a light cross onshore wind. Steep wedging little peaks that were fast and pockety.

Surfed the twin fin. There were a couple of sections I had a heap of speed up and hit them as hard and steep as I could, causing the board to kind of Ollie out of the lip then land back in the trough. Managed to pull it off with ease and draw my line back up into the face and kept threading down the line. Not an air, but more than a standard rentry.

Braithy would’ve been proud.

Beanpole would’ve been drinking Aldi whisky on the back patio.

Went out in crappy NE windblown 1 foot windswell this morning
Water was a brisk 19 degrees
Took the 8-1 and actually had a few OK trim and glides across the knee high junk
enough to make it a worthwhile half hour

Had my first surf since July where I actually got some waves, nice little point break with some nice sucky sections. Overall very happy. :-)

Nabbed the most audacious runner at Mona Vale on my 7ft 2+1 today. The bank bent in the most delightful way and I could feel the single fin thing chase like a baited greyhound. Went for ages. Week maker.

Swell popped up for a couple of hours early this morning, glassy 4 to 6 foot, surfed alone for the first hour, getting back on board, no pain at all. :-)

Pushed the kids onto tiny waves on foamies up the coast. Took it for a paddle after, nipple rash after 3 or 4 minutes put that idea to bed.
