Where did you surf today ?

A beachie on the southern Goldy.
Was a bit Dave Taylor-ish. Large, mean looking, a bit slow and ineffective.
Was good to get the 6'4" widowmaker up to speed and lean into a couple of turns.
The rowing and gym work paid off too, I felt much better than expected.
First surf in a steamer since 2015.

Managed to ram my knee into a steel latch on a large metal gate yesterday, ironically while checking Sandon Point. Left me writhing in agony and hobbling round like a crippled Irishman. I'm hoping it will come good by tomorrow.

Was that excuse in the coastalwatch top 20?

I saw Dan Thompson on this new thing, short, parallel ooutlined but with a pintail, quad set-up.....he was just like a silver spaceship all over it. Just insane free form, non CT surfing.

later, riding his bike back along the point under the avenue of sheoaks he looked like the cat who got the cream.

Super fun playful beachies this morning when it was clean. New banks everywhere. So I went down the beach to one. Of course nobody down there (four floaters out the peak even though it's mired in sand after that swell)

Lots of fun rights and a few lefts, a cool rip bowl at the end of the right

Sure enough, after I'd been surfing it for an hour, people started coming out there. Banks everywhere but no, they have to come out here. I know the rationale but it's so fcuking predictable.

first surf today in 2 months to test the back out. fat peaks up wanda way, the banks are pretty crap after the swell. tweaked the back again, so off to physio this arvo lol that guys gunna be putting a deposit on a Porsche soon

I'm off to the osteo myself Brendo. Whole front right of my neck is switched on and won't turn off. Feel like I'm been choked (I've had the tetanus shot at the start of the year though).

I came out of the weekends swell/paddle-fest with some weird injuries.

Got this stabbing whiplash thing in my neck and a strange tendonitis ache, that robs me of strength in my right elbow.

I can't remember any savage wipeouts.

Well Monday was a doozy. As discussed I'd done my knee in a Dad Related Injury but it didn't seem too bad once the nurofen kicked in, went out slowly and gingerly to Sandon where as I paddled out the wind went nuts and put it to the sword.

Took off on a decent one, didn't make the take off and snapped my board in half. Swam in.
