North NSW has a far more active and wide open swell window than South Coast NSW.

Yes yes. We've been thru this ad infinitum. The far NSW coast gets the trade swells plus the south swells.

But it has its limits

- way less options when it's big (central to south coast there's plenty)
- way less options in mixed conditions (central to south has a much more varied coastline)
- far NSW has minimal reefs (central to south coast there's an abundance)

All comes down to what you value, what you prefer.

We done now? Should I spit the bait so you can use it a final time?

ha, I'm surprised you came at it so early in the morning Iggs.

I don't need too many options when it's big. Lennox Point will hold the biggest swells the Tasman or Coral Sea can generate.

Plenty of options when it's mixed, but yes, a shortage of reefbreaks is undeniable.

Tomorrow's conditions are looking favourable for a certain island up this way.

Possibly? Mate just said it's from the Mornington peninsular. That's all I know of it. It's around 6'2. Flat bottom, with the slightest vee out the tail.

It will be Bean from Balin, but I suspect that board may have been made while he was living in Qld. Sunny coast I think. He came back to the MP sometime around '82. That board is earlier

Dunno where he is now. Had the shop next to Killers in Toot for a few years and then moved to the highway. Shop closed not too long back. Not sure if he moved or just gave it up

No. My mate picked up that old board from a fella that lives on russelll island who came over on the ferry and dropped it off.

I can't think of any reason I'd want to go to Russell island. It's just full of bogans and mosquitoes isn't it?

and just around the corner there's a 10-12m trench where shallow water snapper fishing can be done.

watch those babies run in 5m of water! they spool you in 15 seconds.

Went there for a weekend to look at buying a block of land, got the feeling it was a strong hold for witness protection.
