it is freakin massive down here - watching guys break board and spirit as massive 10ft cleanup sets wipeout the lineup...Lucky i forgot my legrope...
Where were you checking Batoes? I was out at Sandon at dawn and it was totally handling it with a few big hints about the day to come...

More nuts J-Bay yesterday. Morning surf was absurd. Wind flicked early to SW offshore about 4-5knots. 4-6' sets every six or seven minutes, plenty of one-wave pulses in between.

Afternoon was a bit bumpier as the wind blew a bit more and some refraction was coming off the reefs, but, you know, so what.

Swell is clearly on the way out now though, this morning 3-4' with a couple of bigger ones. Bit devil windy. Guess this is where I step off the Channel Bottom Express.

A lot of Firewires in the water here! Specially the Evo and the Slater design Omni thing. Mostly slightly larger more volumey high performance boards.

Tuncurry just north of the breakwall. Four foot peaks and handling well. A bit fat and too south but still fun. Boomerang and other exposed spots south looked probably double the size but weren't handling, just raw and wobbling.

A lone guy out at The Southy at Coogee. Lurline Bay was big and handling the swell but no takers. Three guys who seemed to be on ice were watching it. Quite a few out at Coogee main.
Channel 9 News said the swell was so big that experienced surfers wore helmets at Dee Why. Insert footage of some guy with a peaked wetsuit hood riding a wave.

I thought South Boomerang may be solid

Went for a walk at Curly with the kids about 4pm. Must have been 12 foot

South boomerang with nobody out. The outside was breaking all over the place. The inside bank had some bowls but overall it was hit and miss, straight and sectiony. You'd have got waves out there, just not too many decent ones. Lots of effort for average quality.

Tuncurry wasn't epic by any stretch, but at it had better shape and a couple of other peeps out

Saw it going off its tits at that size last year.
I can think of two absolute definites and five possibles in those conditions in that area.
Also no ones mentioned Box Head.
