Went for an afternoon grovel at Tama. Perfect little peelers.

Cracking session today, 1 hour after the low tide. Perfect 2ft speed runs racing down the bank. Uncrowded and great fun.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
rode the finless for the first time at the `pass this morning. waves were perfect, just perfect peelers, although it was crowded, such a scene.
paddling in the first thing you notice is that lack of directional control in the yaw axis...the tail is harder to control. It takes a technique to stabilise it as you catch a wave.
I didn't make a take-off first three waves, then I got the edge control, and had a fcuking blast. 3-500 metre speed runs, climbing and dropping getting that weightless, drag free high line.

i've been worried about my yaw axis for quite a while now, if i'm being completely honest.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
another absolutely devastating performance from me out the Peak today.
2-3' bumps from SE and NE, lower tides this week so it's sorta OK with a barely there swell. But really, it was all about me. I wish I'd videoed myself so I could have shown you all.

Which board did you select?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Do you rate the peak Nick? I only ever surfed it once before. About 10 years ago on a fairly big swell (double overhead with some bigger bombs). Was a pretty fun (though fairly gnarly) wave from memory, breaking somewhat similar to wombarra bombie
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Chuck a gopro on the nose nick.

No need, I know someone who videoed your entire performanceNick Carroll wrote: I wish I'd videoed myself so I could have shown you all.

it's weird in a way, a combo reef and beachbreak, but it's pretty powerful and abrupt and you can ride a million waves a day which makes it an incredible learning environment. I really like its energy and changes of pace.
it was fcuken cool to surf as a kid with 20 other frothers, it'd be an insane wave to learn airs on and in that way I wish me and my whole crew had come along about 15 years later than we did.

Nick mate, we seen you surf in the Telos and no ones talking about it so why would this be any different.

I propose a surf off!Nick the waterman vs Loofy the...the..waterman!
Iggy and croissant to be the judges
AJ gets the beers
Davros on sun lotion duty
At Tamarama before the flags go up
