So you're scared of Carroll and his cronies? They're all baby boomers Loof, how scary can they be?
Surely not as intimidating as Maroubra?

Just utilising the sub-text the way Carroll taught us.

When you're getting paid to say "yeah it goes great, its a heaps fun board that you can also get vertica" you'll be using the sub text like NC taight you.

Hmmm not so much, love to go back to Cloudbreak which will happen. I do fantasise about surfing good waves endlessly but the whole overseas surf trip thing makes me feel a bit of a punter. Nothing like nailing a cracking mid week uncrowded surf within 3-4 hours drive... kinda feel like you earnt it you know.steve shearer wrote:Do you have a bucket list of waves you would like to surf before you cark it Loof?
Really keen to do a motorhome trip as well at some point, prob a bit of a romantic notion "free as a bird" and all that but we'll see.

Yeah, ridiculous but preferred cloudbreak. 6 years later though maybe I will be able to surf restaurants a bit better! It just grinds along.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well if your south of the bridge, most often it makes little sense to surf any of the northern beaches. Eastern burbs are mostly shit, but to south there's Cronulla/Kurnell and the coal coast. And if you were going to cross the bridge, it'd be best to just keep heading to the central coaststeve shearer wrote:How come none of you Sydney crew go up and surf Newport?
Too localised?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I surf there and Mona/Warriewood a bit before work as work is closer to there than my home break so I can get out later. Although one early mid-week session at Newport I got yelled at by an old bloke on a SUP. It was 2ft and pretty straight. We were the only ones out. I pulled back on a closeout and he totally blew up saying it was the wave of the day. It wasn't. It was just a shitty closeout.steve shearer wrote:How come none of you Sydney crew go up and surf Newport?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Id say the upper North shore beaches are more localised than the Bra these days....because no one goes up there. It's a long 30 klms too. Lots of winding roads and traffic lights. You would definitely get up to the Central Coast at least as quickly.steve shearer wrote:Drailed wrote:For the most part its shit. The Bra is not what it was in the 70s, 80s, and 90's. Things have changed. Its not aggro anymore in the traditional sense. Just a shit load of surfers hassling for waves. It's still an unholy shit fight but it's due to numbers in the water, not serious ownership aggro.steve shearer wrote: Surely not as intimidating as Maroubra?
