Don't you mean 1 to 2 Egyptian cubits. Damn modernist.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I was going to use chains and perches, but one sank and the other swam away, so no accurate measurement was possible.

Fishing rods are always measured in feet, duh.

Looked promising for a little while....got a couple..quickly went to poop and got crowded. Seal made a return appearance. Impressive dolphin type breaching on the first wave he caught through the crowd..followed by popping up with a decent sized fish shortly after. Caught another wave a while later but stayed underwater on that one. You could feel there was something going on in the water before he popped up.

A rod, chain or perch used to be the same measurement in the old days I thought.ctd wrote:Fishing rods are always measured in feet, duh.

North Steyne/Queensie. Wind oscillating between offshore and onshore, some real wedgie head high lumps coming through with enough push for some decent speed and hacks. Fun as anything.

Fathoms would seem appropriate.

Hard to fathom the current scale that's for sure.

I didn't go in but Bronte looked really fun today. Much better than the local.

Don't tell Beanmong that, he'll light up light Christmas.
Nulla beachies had a couple earlier on, if you don't mind wind and chop.

I was there around high tide. The southern part looked like an easy take off with a relatively long ride. Not too many closeouts.

Yeah watched Bronte....had a couple of swims there actually....but it was a bit too crowded for the conditions I thought. Not a bad direction for it. Looked better at high tide.

Yeah it looked a bit like a slalom run at times, lots of people dodging involved.Beanpole wrote:Yeah watched Bronte....had a couple of swims there actually....but it was a bit too crowded for the conditions I thought. Not a bad direction for it. Looked better at high tide.

True......very hard to get a seat down there on a Saturday Arvo though.....or a park. We were actually on our way to Bondi when that pot of gold parking spot materialised. Tamas even more rare.

Some bombs dropping in the illawarra this morning. Cowries had some real size rolling through - plenty out though.
