Well I was easily satisfied at CC this morning - better than it looked (well at least for me) and out of the wind (the hoax wave wasn't working on the low tide)

Went for a late arvo surf at south curly, it's picked up to 3/4 ft, pitchy, choppy, shifty, windy and rippy. I only had my mid length which must be 60 litres. Excluding myself of course, I respect anyone who rides a bigger board in surf that isn't super cruisey. Freakin hard work, to note I was the only idiot out there on a board longer than 6'6.

Yeah, went for a dip at Bondi and there looked to be a bit of a brief left and right in amongst the close outs. You would have to be on your toes to pick them though.
Still plenty of learners gearing up for a flogging. I guess if you were clueless you would possibly go......okay, here's my opportunity to ride some serious surf.

There was some swell today but onshore winds at Ulus meant a trip to the other side. Checked a few places, not clean, too many people, or both.

Went to a little known spot, a right FFS, just the two of us, 3 foot sets, long wave sectioning really fast, couldn't get my totally inept backside bottom turn and tuck in under the lip working, body just too shocked by the unaccustomed coordination required, so had to grab a rail and pig dog it, an ungraceful move even when done by the best surfers, it was somewhat boring but effective.

Confirmed my prejudice against rights: I'd have to dedicate a lot of time and effort which would be much better spent improving my frontside. Nevertheless fun.

No where, the surf is rubbish. The onshore has turned it to mush and there's no banks anywhere. Closeout mush wobble.

Ditto.
Fun watching everyone running over each other on the close outs.

Island this morning on the fading swell. 2-3 ft glassy runners. Bit soft. Long waits between sets. Beautiful day though, water has warmed up too.
