You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

It was the only beach in that vicinity with a rideable wave yesterday but you had to choose wisely with close outs aplenty.

Today the NEr has ruined everything from very early on.

That NE was a shocker on the Nth Syd beaches - drove around like a headless chicken, finally paddled out and 'caught' about 2.5 waves and gave up. Very frustrating after such a great run thru January.

Had a couple of fun ones...with the crowd. Last one was the best and enough to satisfy my hopes.
Actually had a beer an hour earlier and was going for a swim. I have a bit of a rule about never surfing after any alcohol....shock horror ronaldo....but it had worn off with the heat.

I surfed Burleigh a couple of times earlier in the week with a max of 10-20 people. Not as perfect as the South points judging from the footage of Snapper but also seemed a lot bigger. Was time poor yesterday morning so paddled out the front of my place on my own. Swellnet and Coastalwatch were saying it was 4 foot but I've gotta say there were solid 6 foot sets coming through and breaking in about 2 foot of water. I got out of the water at 8.00 and was thinking that it seemed really heavy for a beach break then heard the news about the poor Cnut drowning whilst on my way to work.
I guess you never know what's gonna happen but have developed a healthy respect for a solid east swell on the beachies.

yeah jimmy, agreed. lotsa people reckon S swells are heavier up here.

but a long interval E swell around here on the beachies really packs a wallop. there's a pretty famous surf videographer who was out with us on a 4-6ft E swell out at miami years ago (like early 00's) and he nearly drowned.

it's like fully heccers, bru.

I tried to paddle out in a 4-6ft long period swell at Miami, and 25 minutes later gave up and went to Burleigh having never got across the outer bank

Should've hit south straddie instead. Would've been pumping, and breaking prob only 30 metres out.

Wouldn't have had to contend with the shitfight of being swept across a deep gutter, paddling frantically to reach the back bank etc.

Those GC beachies can be a total headache when the swell is up.

This was years ago, and I had to be at varsity an hour later. Got one of the nicest waves of my life at Burleigh so I didn't feel like too much of a chump.
