Re: Where did you surf today ?
Just back from my 30th trip to Angourie. Never a problem with the locals and always conscious of letting them have priority. Mostly hard working blokes who get their fair share and give a few up for the visitors who behave. The kids there are amazing. But, this year, there were a lot of hipster types wth jesus hair and bullshit smiles who snaked and hassled and clearly werent from there. . Seems a lot were running away from Byron etc. Would be preferable to have the locals sort them out in my view. Localism isnt all bad.

Did you see Nat or his assaulter up there at Angourie?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
If i'm surfing somewhere not at home I certainly don't dodge set waves to 'respect the locals' if they don't surf that well.
Fuck that, surfing isn't a hand-holding contest.
Gauge the line-up in 5 minutes and then take my turn. If they've lived somewhere with decent waves their whole lives and still haven't developed advanced surfing skills I'm sure as shit not gonna just sit by and watch good waves go to waste on poo-stancing gumnuts.
except for when I'm in Indo.

Bumped into the old.......I'm on the peak waiting bit on the mid North coast. Once I recalibrate I'm generally fine with it as long as they are reasonably competent.
The thing is if you've just rocked in from the Gold Coast.....or down South for that matter
It doesnt initially register. Take off seems to be a bit further up to me.....oops.
Even had that a bit at Angourie with some of the older crew.
The return is....of course.....you get to pick your wave when it's your turn.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
What about a cock holding contest? Now that would spice the surfing up
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Rock platform right. Crappy waves but had it all to myself for an hour.
Don't you hate it when after an hour the best wave of the day comes in, you catch it and have a good ride, but someone in the carpark sees you, thinks that the wave is regular, and they and their mates paddle out.

That's grouse, the jokes on them, I hate it more when they paddle out and you haven't even had a wave for 20minutes
