Everyone I still know in Perth reckons it was one if the best days in years... Good banks at heaps of places and zero wind plus some swell.Legion wrote:m_m plenty of shots of the last few days going around the internet. Funnily enough, none of today yet. I still got wet and actually had fun but there was no comparison.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Hit Longie for my first surf in a few weeks. Had a great surf with one wave on my backhand that just felt great and got me feeling like I have my mojo back. Exited the water when a few angry air boys... oi oi when paddling for waves and faaarks when they couldn't land their airs started killing the vibe.

Rancho....what time you in the water and were you under the eagle?
I was caught up in that Cooly craziness, but stopped in the shed and watched some peelers

Session killer huh? Hate it when that happens. It's like they have to be as loud as possible.channels wrote:Exited the water when a few angry air boys... oi oi when paddling for waves and faaarks when they couldn't land their airs started killing the vibe.

Tiny....should have taken the mal.....heaps of kooks on mals, soft boards etc. Still eventually Sussed out a spot where I could grab the perfect little peelers. Even got a little cover up/head dip thingy.......unheard of. Water fantastic. Just that happy feeling weve all had since you paddled out on Sunday when you were twelve and conditions were nice.

Yeah the central Gold Coast breaks have been average for a while now, it seems that every new swell is too straightjackietreehorn wrote:miami, 2ft shore dumps. some held up, most didn't. a little crowded considering the quality.

Caught two waves pretty much as soon as I got in the water yesterday but had to wait for ages before the next one came through. It was as though someone turned the tap off.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah Rancho...there was a tick on the Currumbin beachie between 9 and 11 that I was there (and again at 4pm when I wasn't in the water) , so I'm guessing it was similar all over. The wind was tending more south as the day moved towards lunch, so the ruffle was more exaggerated, but that's just being picky. SO those southern areas with a bit more form/bank would have been fun peelers again

Re: Where did you surf today ?
some fucker had an OG hot buttered single fin down at the point this morning. Waves were too small for where he was surfing it though.
Haven't seen such a nice perfectly curved outline in a small single fin.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
My god what I am witnessing down here in old Torquay
Fishermans stretch, it's like six inches and there's like 20 people out, and a SUP who is paddling on his knees.
Surfing! It's like a new sport somebody has thought up specially for 50 plus year old men on awkward ungainly equipment
It's like a parable of the Enlightenment. Where men once began to learn to seek rationality and wisdom, they have now reverted to their beast-state

Oh. Now I get the Avalon thing.
Why Torquay?
The regress to beast state makes sense. There, of all places. And I bet they bulge at the midriff and resemble well fed seals.
