i'm down lismore on friday, was gonna zip in for a sneaky dawn surf down the line there, right where you're talking the swiss cheese.

k9's (north). 3ft wedgey lefts breaking into the jetty channel. sunny, light off shore, no wetsuit required. nice.

Surfed Tallows. About 90% close outs but some smoking deep tube rides and floggings. Was great fun.

Left standing up in the rip at Cosy corner and two peaks down from there. Super shallow. High tide only.
not really Loof. Stood in the jaws of a couple but got smoked on the ones I backdoored.

Near Trev.
Funny banks. The ones with good shape broke like crap and the ones that looked crap bent and pitched like nobody's business. Quick takeoff into a barrel or pitched into shin deep water

i am still picking sand out of my ears and scalp and ballsack from last week.
sunday morning, 6am lowtide mighta been the pick. that bank where old mate cracked his neck was breaking in about shin deep water, but just throwing wide and perfect. 2 others out for an hour.
quick hit n run mission before my daughter's bday and mothers day up in brisvegas. still buzzing from it. hopefully it picks up on the incoming tide this morning. last few days have pulsed a foot bigger on the sets.

well, it didn't pick up on the incoming tide. northerly was up and while the water was nice, it was a complete waste of time for surfing.

truncated versions to be published on Surfline.
Full unedited versions on the FRV.
spent a nice arvo with Wayne Lynch. He had plenty to say.

Did you end up getting down here on Friday morning? I got out there about 8 which turned out a bit of a fail - apparently a few hundred metres further north had the goods but the tide window is about an hour - anyway I paddled up and down the lineout and introduced myself to everyone... "G'day Brian, I'm Merkin"
Two blokes name's were Brian - one offered me onto the beach
and the other offerd me a wristie back at the showers when we got in - I'm guessing that one was you huh?

haha!
yeah I surfed for about 45 minutes, i ended up ginning around too long and was time poor by the time i got to the bay. i looked at the wreck first, then tallows. there was a bank breaking off the rocks, not the shorey, but not right out hte back. I shoulda surfed there. i thought it might be better up where we were talking about, but it wasn't.
and i never offer wristies on first dates. just heavy petting.

Super fun super clean 2ft peaks this morning thanks to two swells in the water. Was so fun at dawn but got a little straighter as the tide dropped unfortunately.

My hangover was greeted with a surprise offshore wind and 6-8ft waves this morning in Newcastle. I took some beatings on the paddle out then proceeded to snap my board on the very first wave.
Should have stayed in bed.
It is supposed to be bigger tomorrow so I'm heading north for a 3 day road trip!
