Re: Where did you surf today ?
not sure about the reef a few mates checked it early and bailed on it, "looked like it was tripping over itself" was the call, we scored some pretty special beachies down the road a bit. It might have looked different as the tide and swell direction changed.

Checked the point, too high tide and this big brown water flood water was about to smother it. There was a patch of nervous mullet milling around on the leading edge of it. Didn't seem worth three foot rock runners to sit in it.
checked the beachies in front of the Pub. There were shifty barrelling close out peaks as far as the eye could see. This Pommy chick with a baby asked me to move my car so her friend could park there. I meekly obliged.
Suited up then stood in front of about five million acres of mullet milling in the shorebreak and thought of the humiliation of getting chomped by a bull shark in front of the pushy Pommette.
Did the walk of shame dry back to the car and sped off to Broken ......shifty fat peaks with acres of mullet. Felt like I had mullet jizz all over me so I split.
Got lost on the way to Wayne Lynch's place and ended up in an Israeli commune west of Mullumbimby. Then spent a couple of very pleasureable hours listening to Wayne's anarcho-primitivist take on life.
Picked up a hitchhiker in Mullum with no eyebrows who looked like newborn 70 year old. A true future primitive. He said he lost his eyebrows in a lightning strike. Then another hitchhiker heading to Grafton. By way of Burpengary. He was in a bad way, as anyone heading to Grafton is. Just split with his missus.
Back for a couple Pacificos with lime.

Good lil yarn Steve.
Takes me back to the last hitcher I gave a ride to, think he had escaped from a mental hospital or something as he wasn't quite all there, stunk of piss and had no idea where he was really going. Regretted it as soon as soon as he got in the car.

they are huh?
up here, i think due to the dead east nature of the swell, it limited the running north sweep ... the banks seem to have been massaged around, but not blown away.
plenty of straight handers & such around ... but where i was surfing prior, if i head north a kilometre or so, there's banks there working well in the 3-4ft of swell we have.
be interesting to see when its two foot again just how shallow the banks are.

haven't seen the outside of it but the bit from Thommos rock to the inside has more holes in it than a slice of swiss cheese. in a word, gutted.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
it's going to be a long winter. I just wish this surf would die down now so I could at least rockfish the deep bits.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
It wasn't really that long ago that there was just a complete hole where the Pass should be with waves breaking up to the boat ramp. What ten years ago?
