Didn't surf - but I sat on the rock at Currumbin Alley and watched for a half hour some very nice looking (up to 6 foot) waves coming through.
Quite strong offshores.
I bet the Snapper Pro folk had wished this swell had come through last Thurs/Friday as opposed to Monday.

Went for a paddle. Thought of going yesterday but just had a run and a swim. Very ordinary but uncrowded at the start and the water was warm. Sun was out. Half a little ledgey section to goof around on. Probably one of the last days like that this season I would imagine.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Had a fun bodysurf on Thursday. A dreadlocked, tattooed guy asked me how I could catch waves like that. Friday had a junky but fun surf. Caught heaps of average waves. Today ditto. Really enjoying my surfing at the moment. Just need some more good waves.

Spent the weekend down the coast. Had 4 surfs over 2 days. Every surf was pretty fcuken ok or better. Pretty sore now. Met olds in the water on sat arvo at the island, which was good. Waves were 3-4ft and reasonable with no crowd.

I heard it was great darn sarf! Mates were at one of those cheeky little spots around north Bendalong. Way bigger than up on coal coast. Still, pretty fun up here over the weekend.black duck wrote:Spent the weekend down the coast. Had 4 surfs over 2 days. Every surf was pretty fcuken ok or better. Pretty sore now. Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah. Everyone seemed somewhat surprised by the size of the swell down bendy way. Early Sunday morning had a few double overhead sets. Glass conditions. Swell faded through the day but kept to about 3ft. Sat arvo was better from my perspective as the wind dropped and the swell was starting to peak with only a handful surfing.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
4 foot of vomit swell. but at least it was overhead and practically empty.

Surfed there today merks. Hollow.
About to head out for my third surf of the day. Mind somewhat blown by the possibility, on a family camping trip.
Say what you will about the anthropogenic destruction of the northern rivers region, and quite rightly, but it is still a great part of the world.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
The one in the midlengths thread. Not quite right for the place above but when I have a new board I surf it exclusively for 5 surfs....have to go back and work Thursday-Friday, will bring my regular board back down for the weekend.

Some gurning twit dropped in on me today, then invited more people to join us!
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Did you have a chat to him about it boo?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I asked him what he thought he was doing.
He said "how fun is this?!"
I said "a lot more fun before some guy put his board where I wanted to turn"
He said "hah, good one! Woohoo!"
I don't think he was playing with a full deck.
He looked like the pedo from hey dad, with goggles and a hat
