Another afternoon swim at Bondi. Another earlier beach closure due to sharks :-? This reminds me of when we went for a swim when the Tsunami from Chili was supposed to wash the east coast away. Walked past a bunch of people including Clubbies. Someone said something vaguely criptic.

Today, Overhead Banzai Pipeline on my 6'1 single fin.
One pounding.
One good wave.
Ticked off the bucket list.
Yeeewwwwwwwwww

Two days ago. Sweet surf at 7th Hole on my midlength.
Xmas day perfect over head - head high Bills Bowl/ Gutters. On my midlength.

Thinking of going to hawaii for xmas period do it. The vibe is all time as long as you're not a Brazo. They've got a bad rep over here for being generally disrespectful and always hogging the inside.

Not as bad as dickheads who rat out spots on the internet. Those eastside spots don't get named.

Bondi Beach on Sun 4 Jan
What a beautiful morning! Sun shining, warm water, fairly smooth conditions, hence the waves were fullish and breaking fairly close to shore. So the only reason i gave this surf a 3 is that i got heaps of waves on the Walden Mega Magic. Short small rides but got a couple of peak ones that came in every now and then. Really nice to be in the water.
Note: Do not own a Walden Magic. Mega or otherwise. Haven't had a surf in about a week I think.

Calm down, all the spots we surfed we found on a surf map we bought from a servo for $6.

No one within sight warm water - 2 turns till the peaks ran into deep water.
Not a bad end to the working week

our bank situation hasn't been too flash in what feels like forever, huh? despite the fact we had pretty much a month long flat spell for all the sand to come in from out the back and settle a little closer to shore.

I've had two, 3 hour surfs in the last 4 days at my local. Not crowded (but I avoided the weekend).
Kinda stuffed right now.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Agree The banks have been dire - so much surfable swell wasted lately
But went for a drive this morning as I didn't want to waste the clean conditions on close outs and found a series of fun lefts - offshore consistent 3ft and more than 2 turns ! happy days

yeah for sure there's a few diamonds out there on the beachies ... I can't wait for my foot to heal. its at the point where I know I could surf on it, but one decent knock and I'd re-break it and be back to square 1.

@Al ... lovely little wedge. It'd fun as on a handplane, huh?

banks are weird down here too.

mostly shitt but there are some absolutely insane ones to be found and somehow, the best of it has remained relatively underground. I mean wave machine perfect on these tradewind swells.

I found myself smokescreening my own mother when she asked me where I'd been surfing.

haha. classic.

it's been good for my own perspective being out of the water this holiday season. Listening to everyone complain about crowds and dangerous tourists kooking and destroying things in the lineup.

i know every year I sound like my mates who're complaining right now. it kinda makes me wonder why I keep surfing at all. at least why I keep surfing in built up areas, anyway.

still, i can't quite remember such a prolonged bad sand situation in lieu of any kind of bank busting storm event. not in all my years here has it been this bad (generally speaking).
