Re: Where did you surf today ?
Actually paddled out and caught three waves in 15-20 minutes at Bondi yesterday arvo. One actually went all the way to shore
Considering how crowded it was and how many waves were coming through that was pretty good. This was really just a preamble for meeting up for a beer at the Pavilion anyway. First surf in boardies for the season. Water is warmer.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
surfed some chest high weak as piss wind junk at an isolated beach in national park. totally solo, with nobody else out. but if it was a sydney beachie, even in those conditions it would have had at least a couple of dozen punters.
i'm guessing you dont surf any of the reefs there, but if you're striking out on the beachies, then you're probably hitting them at a wrong times. they're a southerly mid-sized swell gig. walled up, and down the line. certainly nothing magic, but if you like big long overhead walls to tear down they can be a lot of fun.Beanpole wrote:Haven't had that much success going to Cronulla.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Sorry to make you cry Hatchie. Have surfed the Point a couple of times but I just tend to keep driving south if I'm motivated enough to get that far down in the first place. Plus used to have friends who lived at Stanwell Tops in the 80s so I have hung around that area a fair bit.
Like the idea of surfing in the National Park but it gets blown out even more regularly than the Coal Coast.

Few fun lefts at the bra if a little slow due to the strong offshores.

Nice to meet you too, Drailed. I stayed clear of the Russian beginner on the Hypto.
Iggs, it was a party wave day but no drop ins from me.

That Russian on that hypto was lethal.. I just managed to get a hand on his rail before it made a ding in my NPJ! Glad I didn't lose my balance... Nice little wave!

It was that kind of small day where "taking off deep" meant being as close to the edge of the flags as possible without the lifeguards getting on the loudhailer.Hatchnam wrote:good to hear you're taking off nice and deep thenpetulance wrote:no drop ins from me.

It's good to catch up with real surfers, I surfed a blown out beachie with cuttlefish up on the sunny coast yesterday. It was a good adventure & only 41 degrees, thanks Cuttles it was fun as always.
Real surfers should catch up more but I guess the forum would get boring if we all just got along and shared surfing knowledge and experiences

I thought we were all cyclists who just sometimes frolicked in the water on hot days?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
My little island in the South Pacific is starting to roll out of bed with signs of an early season starting to show. Last few weeks have seen some very fun 2 to three foot peaky A-Frames but still lacking some decent grunt. Swell direction is starting to change and the winds are being a lot kinder for a lot longer of the day! No problems with crowds though...

The view from my tree house...perfect for morning swell and wind reports...Today's report...
Light Off-Shore
Sunny with a 90% chance of rain (because it rains every F^%ing day here).
3ft ENE Swell at around 10 Seconds.
