twas easily three foot here too.

Swellnet said two foot this morning and when I nearly got washed off the rocks by multiple four foot sets I knew they'd buggered up the call again.

lol swellnet.

They by and large haven't been close since their new model went live. And now it seems they're more interested in reporting what the model predicted, rather then what their eyes are seeing.

can't complain though ... if it keeps all the people not living near the ocean away, it's a win.

And to be fair to SN, Ben did hint in his words that he thought this long range E'ly groundswell may actually come in above model expectations.

Yeah well down here it's more of a NE bump from the winds out in mid Tasman. Fluctuating each day, like this morning was 4' and the arvo was a bit smaller and less consistent. Yesterday morning it was 4' under some wind chop and a bit thicker, then dropped within two hours of the offshore kicking in. Tomorrow might be smaller again or bigger, but I bet there won't be many people on it. there weren't more than 15 on the whole beach where I surfed today.

To me this all feels like late April. Maybe late June will bang out an ECL or two.

Tama yesterday was looking good but geez trying to not get dropped in on was a major achievement. You notice that everyone in the water can actually surf.
Bit of a shock after Bondi

Redhead. One hour, 3 waves, then the paddle of shame....I was freezing and couldn't wait any longer. :(
Water temp has dipped slightly from yesterday, so did the swell.

Manly. Pretty ordinary but better than Bondi in a SE Wind.
Had to get a surf in over the long weekend.

yet last week was 'flat' and there were all kinds of waves.

got a few dead low tide grinders at a sandy quasi point with just 5 other guys on it, but with mega sweep and max water moving for what it was.

Surfed North Boomerang yesterday and today. Fun fun fun but swell now on the fade. Late yesterday arvo was the pick with good size coming through.

Bondi today was breaking exactly the same as Thursday Evening. Exactly as crowded with exactly the same number of drop ins and I caught exactly the same sort of fluky bigger wide right I caught on Thursday Evening as my one decent wave of the session. Only trouble was I stayed out far too long because the night didn't put an end to proceedings like Thursday.

^^^
I had to cut short the late session at my local. It was probably 1-2ft when I paddled out and I should have figured something was wrong when the 3 guys in front of me started chucking their boards on their way out. It is usually a pretty calm channel on the way out.

Made it out the back, waited for a bit ... not much happening and then the wind picked up, there was quite a bit of water movement and I had to start duck diving. It must have been the predicted big swell coming in so I thought that discretion is the better part of valour and made my way back to shore as soon as I could.

Didn't really think about going out at low tide. Fun session at high tide.
For some reason I've seen quite a few learners go over the falls lately. Just sitting there or paddling sideways.
