Just got back from the Telos islands. Stayed at Telos surf village.
It was fcuking epic. A great place to stay. We were lucky enough to get 2 swells, with the first hitting the day we arrived.
These shots are of the wave out the front - Pastis, on the 2nd day of the first swell.
Very shallow and sharp rock/coral bottom. Bit fcuking scary actually.
Fast, fast wave, especially so with any south swell bias.

WoooHoooo. Scored a couple of ball tearers this arvo. Quite unexpected. Unfortunately marred by a later road rage incident. Don't cut me off, bitch.

Gunnammata for the early

Haven't surfed much of late and damn it shows you up there. Got a couple of waves and waddled back to the car.

I saw a shark at the bank I've been surfing down the road. Stayed out as long as I could but the bloody thing hung around chasing baitfish. the water visibility was a bit murky and it was nearly 5 o'clock so I ski-daddled when it popped up again 5 metres away.
heard an old bloke saw a bullshark about the same time earlier in the week too.

been surfing that bank all year.

Me too. Very small waves but I got about 90 minutes in.
Had to use 9'6" of foam to catch 'em.
There were a few out on smaller boards but they didn't have to carry around a Grooter gut like me. :(

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Take offs might have been chest high where I was but they quickly dropped off to about 1 ft. :-o

IGiven my reaction when I reached my usual surf checking spot high on a headland this morning, I may have to change my age in the Realsurfers' ages thread to about 10.
Pulled up, got out of the car and walked out onto the decking, to be greeted by the sight of about 8 or 9 long lines of swell marching in from the horizon, jacking up and peeling quickly across the point. Light souwester brushing the tops of the wave.
Not super big, maybe head high on take off but holding around chest high for a couple of hundred meters. So, maybe 2' I.S.
Frothing. Jumping up and down.
I'm back in my grommet stage. 3-)
Just 2 others and me for nearly an hour.

Love it when an old favorite just gets the swell from the right direction. That one hasn't happened for a while. At least when I've been around. :-D-:
