Re: Where did you surf today ?
Just a bit of logging at the point. Was pretty small but it's my first surf for a week after a hip injury that's still pretty tender.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Surfed Newcastle main from about 6 till dark. Was fun 3-4ft with a peak to myself and one other about 100m down the beach from 20+ people.. suckers.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Pretty full this morning at my local point but i went out anyway (at first light and alone ).
What followed was probably my most frustrating session in years. I did catch 4 decent waves but the rest -
Lazy paddles - missed the wave. Paddled too hard - nose dived. Caught the wave, turned - and floated off the back. Absolute gimp session.
However, conditions were great, offshore, warm and uncrowded.
The water was a bit murky and the sun was soooo glary.
Wouldn't be dead for quids.
Might have a nap now. Then wash the car and mow the lawn. And check it again at low tide.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Missed the clean surf this morning as I had to drop my increasingly unroadworthy car at the mechanic for some TLC.. It was a half hour skatey ride home and of all the places I stack the c*nt it was in front of the high school gates. This obviously was met by a roar of laughter and pointing from the students.

You mow the lawn, then check it again at low tide?
I know it's been humid and there's been a few showers around, but k'nell Trev, it sure must grow fast up there.
Maybe you should extend that nap a little....
... Poor overworked petal.....
The surf, woolly. The surf.
Try to keep up.

Went down about 11 for an hour or so. Fun little reforms on the inside...little logging convention out there with some decent localsTrevG wrote:Pretty full this morning at my local point but i went out anyway (at first light and alone ).

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yes boys. A nice looking morning. Too much wind up here.
Everyone has to pay their reef taxes!
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Soooo good today
Re: Where did you surf today ?
the wind went offshore a day earlier than expected and the swell is hanging in.
The rain cleared, and I have the week off work. Happy days.
Maroubra was not for the feint hearted or unfit. Double overhead on the outside sets and a lot of water moving. I watched for 15 minutes and saw 5 people give up and come in, but noone ride a wave. Probably wisely I decided to go elsewhere
Bronte was a wash-through.
Tama was big and good, but too many competent crew on it already.
Bondi it was...I was so amped I even paid for parking because I couldn't be arsed walking from my mate's place
Substantially smaller due to swell direction, but at least there were some banks. The odd sneaky set cleaning everyone up. Head to head and a half on the regular sets, double on the sneakers. And there was a section that was free of punters, I had it to myself for about 40 minutes. Who said Bondi is crowded?
I'd made the commitment to testing the limits of my 'summer' board, which is 5'10" and fairly well proportioned (check pg7 of the new board porn thread).Testing some different fins too, and they could be the preferred option for waves in the 3-4ft range. They felt kind of neutral yet drivy, if that makes sense? I was woefully undergunned in terms of paddle, but there was no skatiness once up and riding. The more I ride this board, the more boards I sell, it has a much broader range than I was expecting.
I'd say 98% of the punters out there were thinking they were Bruce Irons, there were a lot of elevator drops from people on 6'0"s, and very few were made. Lots of shapely beasts going unridden. I would have given a lot for a decent step-up, and I'll be talking to my shaper this week about ordering one in time for winter.
It was one of those sessions where I was always about 2 metres out of position, getting caught behind sections, freefalling from the lip, missing waves and getting caught inside by sets. Plus my leash and board were trying to kill me, wrapping around my foot, slipping out from under me, flicking back at me after I kick out... :?
Fark it was fun, though.
Refuelling for an arvo session when the tide has dropped a bit.
