Re: Where did you surf today ?
checked sunshine beach early, double overhead walls of whitewash, saw some guy braving it.
noosa, only thing on offer. a thousand guys out (big surprise)
was there all day, surfed a few hours then took some photos for couple more.
crowd was surprisingly well behaved considering. 1 meathead nearly scalped another bloke with his mal, i got setup on a nice wave at nationals before an old fart on a mal couldnt get out of my way and i had to abort or kill him.
wave of the day went to some chick in a blue rashie absolutely tearing the guts out of a wave at nationals. couple guys got some standup barrels at boiling pot before the tide dropped.
shoutouts to oldmate shredding in black speedos, kid getting barrelled while riding a pink foam boogie board standup all day, coupla scorching hot lasses out too.
dodged about one thousand 7s superfishes today, my god. fvcken kook popouts
fvck i remembered why i stay away from noosa

Hey Rancho! how about posting some Noosa pics? I was thinking about going up there today as well, but with the rain you know there's going to be even more tradies (I'm one as well) out there then normal.el rancho wrote: noosa, only thing on offer. a thousand guys out (big surprise)

Re: Where did you surf today ?
surfed fast dredging lefts with my little brother ... I love surfing with my little brother ... there was only the two of us and the water was warm and clean ... it was only 3 ft but the drops were tricky and then the lefts ran fats down the beach across the shallow bank ... most were a case of holding you line and racing through the sections but some held a bit more allowing for some lip belting ... it was fun ...
sorry I cannot elaborate more ... one day I might grow self aware enough to understand "shearer's law" and I will actually understand what it all really meant ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Fri arvo - Solid 5ft out south narra. Walling takeoffs with a womping end section. Ramps and closeouts. Had a peak to myself. It was shifty peak and the change in the tide killed it.
Sat arvo - Very similar but more unpredictable. Favourable winds. A bit smaller.

Sunday morning, south maroubra about 3 hours after Iggy, and after meeting Iggy at the beach checking it out.
Not the greatest session in my life, but hell, I got out there. Took the wrong board and all.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Lumpy and bumpy today, despite the strong offshores.
And there seems to be a sand bar out wide which, on high tide causes the waves to wall up almost to the point of being able to catch them and then flattening out at the critical moment.
Of course, if you sit inside where they are breaking, the sandbar waves rear up and break on your head.
Good fun anyway.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Have you guys in Sydney noticed that just because its rainy, some people think they need to wear a full steamer in summer? Its a joke.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Couple of days ago I got into a slanging match with a kneeboarder. He's often out at my local when the surf is good and we've exchanged greetings in the past but the other day he made some disparaging remarks to me about another surfer in the water.
I thought he was out of line and told him so.
As usual, it escalated into a bit of a heated discussion.
Today i noticed him paddling out and thought I'd try to mend the bridge.
As he got closer and I started to smile at him, he said, "Maybe we can start again".
Always nice to have a happy ending. So often these things can fester. Obviosly we had both thought about it and realised we were over the top and decided to make amends.
That's only the second argument I've had out here in 3 years. The vibe is really good most of the time.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Took out the smaller RV quad, cause it's my newer board, but think I would have been better with the webber, which is 4'' longer and a thruster set up.iggy wrote:what'd you take out??oldman wrote:Took the wrong board and all.
I put the webber in the car, but then changed my mind as I went to take the leg rope off the quad. The attraction of the newer board sucked me in I reckon.

Sun arvo, mona beachy at mid-tide? going out i think, fuggen got no puter so forget which way it is.
D'Arcy shortboard, didn't see a rip to get out the back, altho could've had a mindset that they were close-outs so practised paddling
