^^ weell it does sound extreme. chopped open every 2 hours for months
that would be surgery every 2 hours for months.
i assume you'd never wake up
and if you did would have a few scars that need explaining

maybe it wasn't surgery, and they just made him go through a procedure every couple hours.

Back to the issue, you'd have to see the original thread, and it seems to have vanished, at least search doesn't work like it did. That's pretty much what he said happened, tho I may be misquoting the finer.

Regular reefbreak.
Slow and weak 2 foot, very summer like swell actually in its lack of push.
Only 4 out, sunny day, great way to start a days work even if the waves were poor
Might finally be a surfable weekend

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Surfed a particular swell magnet on the other side this morning. Wasn't too bad with the odd 2ft+ freak bomb set and some underlying power coming through. Bloody shallow though breaking in less than 1ft of water. Crowd wasn't too bad either for a GC public holiday.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Had a little go-out at the local swell magnet which has finally come on line after months and months of wide banks.
It looked kind of crowded for how I was feeling but the high vantage telephoto perspective had distorted the pack dynamics......most of the crew were squeezed up against the wall.....it was as simple as letting go of the ego to drift down and find a solo peak.
Just the odd fun wedgey peak with plenty of bottom tension and a stack of dolphins in the line-up.
Old mate drifted down and I could see he had a similar agenda. He paddled into a nice wedge , came off the bottom and compressed into a really nice searing layback carve. I could tell he really felt it.
I said : "you really got hold of that one"
"yeah", that felt really damm good"
We had a little chat and traded a few without even the merest sniff of a hassle.
A hundred kays away at D-bah the surf would've been similar with ten times the crowd.
After two years of floods and shark attack/sightings it felt good to surf sans leggy.
I was thinking about what Derek said in the latest SW and Terry Fitz's poem.
I know he made a 14 year old Dino cry but his words still sounded pretty damm good to these ears.
Didn't swim.
Came home and all was well with the world so I cracked a fourex gold.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Surfed 6-10' Bells all day yesterday. Day of the year, especially in the morning when the swell was in its pomp. Strong winds swinging from NNW to WNW. Ross etc surfed down the coast, 20-25' +.
Only a few guys all day, what a contrast to contest time.
Only one question: where the Fcuk was Ringmaster.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
way too rough to surf today after a big nite on the GC...but had 2 little surfs yesterday, the first was on the Sunny Coast and it was small but perfect for a while. Nice lefts peeling off consistently on a great little sand bank, my son got plenty of great little lefts, it was absolutely perfect for a 10 year old goofy footer who is learning to do turns....he was on my 5'11 Swinger so he was flying and catchin heaps of waves... I was pushing him into some and he was just stoked, was great and very satisfying watching him enjoy surfing so much, great to share it with him....
then had a sesh with a few mates in some Surfers beachie..was my first surf with no wettie for ages and it felt great....did a few boards swaps thru the surf, so rode a 5'11" swinger, a 6'0" Fat-Bat with diamond tail and a 6'0" QF round tail....was fun feeling the diffeences and adapting in the small and full peaks, waves werent great but was alot of fun all the same, then my mate lives right on the beach so just walked up the dunes and into his pool and cracked a few Heini's and watched some surf dvd's on the mother of all tv's...great way to warm up for a big night on the town....life is good
Don , might be surfing that spot you spoke of tomoz, say gidday if you see a guy on a board with leopard skin spray on the deck....swell is bit bigger so could be some fun wedges to be had...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Hey Nick, I heard the crowd out at Bells was pretty mellow in the morning and no one out at Winki! They said the average age of the surfers out at Bells was late 40's! I surfed up the road after checking a beachie and deciding the set-on-the-head to barrel ratio wasn't the best! Scored this epic right with not many out instead...
And some other shots from around the place.
