Best surf I’ve had in ages.
4ft+ B/C grade point, slightly wind affected, minimum crowd.
Surfed for an hour and seemed like all the good waves just followed me around the lineup. And my surfing was in synch too. Rode the 6’0 shorty. Left the table while I was well up.
Hardly surfed lately and each time I have it’s been mostly the opposite of that experience. Hopefully the tables have turned.

2-3 wind affected sandon point. Shitty swell angle but still rides thru to the boat sheds to be had. Surfed the 7’0 single, make life easy

How good were the conditions this morning !

I waited patiently for half an hour before catching the first of a handful of most excellent bombs. Surfing your local at Christmas can be delightful, with the local crew frothing over having a few days off ... laughter, good banter and sharing waves. You wouldn't be dead for quids.

Got a few good ones today. A couple of midsized screamers from the point right through to past the creek. Crowd got big later as the conditions deteriorated with the incoming tide.

Missed yesterday but today found a high tide bank somewhere that doesn’t usually have them.

Wind swung briefly so we went out. Smaller than yesterday and the swell direction seems to have swung a bit too north. Caught a few tiddly ones with a big storm brewing. Storm pretty much swung past and it turned hard onshore again. Back now and it looks like it’s swung again. Heaps of sand in front of the creek.

Real treat after lunch as a line of storms went through and winds went offshore.

Great fun surf with wife and son.
