Re: Where did you surf today ?

Post by Beanpole » Sun May 10, 2020 10:10 am

So Friday I paddled out at Bronte on my foamy. Hardly breaking but nice floating around in the water. Very shallow sand bank to land on after a brief non closing out section occasionally. Highlight of the surf was one I took off on and didn't land on my arse after a brief first section. As I continued to trim in the soup I noticed a lump of side wash coming at me so I angled my foamy at 45% and it took off fast across the shin deep water. I kept thinking my fins must be about to dig in and send me face planting at any minute.....but no. Rode it right into the inside gutter which allowed me to dismount with a bit more dignity. Stoked.

I had a bit too much mother's day guilt to go for the early. Let her have a sleep in and helped the kids murder her tea and toast.

By the time I got out there up at Stanny, the swell had dropped. Got a couple of weird ones into a rip bowl and slouched off home.

my God, trev may very likely drown what with all the moderately sized swell developing at a favourable angle for Caloundra.

Lovely today.
There's two swells in the water at the moment.
East and SE. But they both have to get around Cape Moreton and it can get messy by the time they hit my point.
This morning though. Pick the right ones and long walls right through the inside section which is very similar to the racetrack at The Bower.

If it gets too big for me I'll go to the "secret" 😀🤬 left.
Or paddle across to the island.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

And it doesn't have to be very big to be too big for me these days.
Cranked I'm definitely not. 🤢

Five days straight. 😀
And I haven't drowned Nick.

46 in the water at 7 am.
Distance restrictions ease tonight. People can travel up to 150 Klms.
Brissos galore over the weekend.

I'll take a break.

Can't believe how bad Bondi looks at the moment. Might have a swim later.

Cool, the beans. Then what?

In other news, some OK waves around here this morning but not that big. Went from small but fun reefy right to bigger but slower deep water left in the space of 5 mins drive- one thing I love about this coast.

It's probably better, now I'm not surfing.

trev is actually gonna drown again later next week and into the weekend. Surely this will go down as the best back end of May in NSW north coast/Qld southern coast regions for some years.
