Great shots by gosh!

I actually like #2 - the big empty slab - no fricken human bean soiling the landscape.

I love 1 and 2. The rest are nice shots, except for 5, which is just a tad on the cliche side of things.

# 1 is # 1 - great image. How good is the lip / horizon effect?

Then #7 - 'speed suggests size' shot. And you can never see too many bottom turn images

Great pics Butts but I still don't know how you can swim around with a camera in tricky conditions with all those ciggies you smoke

It's a good shot in many ways, but just not something I want to look at very long. Not enough to keep the eye busy. 1 or 6 on the other hand just make you think about the composition of the shot and thereby sort of get you to think about the waves.

Agreed - technically a great image. But - the best way to pick a great surf image is by the length of time you want to look at it.

I'm still staring at a fair few of the ones above - just not #5

Well Butts - if you keep serving treats we're going to start getting picky... 8)

If you're down this way, Island is the place to be Nov - Feb. Wind is mostly S.E - N.E which is offshore there and the worst wind possible here. (We need W - N winds) Only chance of clean waves with any East in it for me is to go round the other side of Cape Otway ((1.5 hour drive)

The Island is probably the best place to live as a surfer down here cause you can get a clean wave on just about any wind as long as there's swell.
yes, plus there's penguins, what more could you want... ummm warm water??
