How many spots have you surfed?

Post by grazza » Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:03 pm

Like ever, in your entire surfing lifetime? I sat down the other night (I have no idea why) and wrote out the entire list. I came with 218 spots, which quite honestly seemed pretty light on for nearly 40 years in the water. What's your number? I was kinda weird that I could remember them all.

I counted a few years ago, something around 120 breaks in 10 years on the East Coast. These days I try to surf somewhere new every time I head out of town.

I often wonder how many surfs or waves I have had in total. There is always room for a few more.

shit this is a hard one to do accurately.....must be hundred at a guess..all of the Sunny Coast from Rainbow south, all of the Goldy, Straddie but not Moreton, Bribie, Tweed coast, most of the coastline down to just south of Yamba, heading to Emerald Beach tommorrow to look around that area just north of Coffs, about 20 spots down the coast to Sydney. Not much in Sydney at all, a handful on the south coast, mostly near Pambula ,few around Torquay and thats about it for Oz. About 10 spots in Bali, G-land and about 5 spots in Fiji....Shit I got lots more to do and look forward to sharing some with my son, and passing on my knowledge of the spots I do know...

heading to Spain next year and hopefully a spot in Indo too

Lots of spots ranging from Yorkes to Torquay. Alot missed inbetween as well.

This is like that thread on that song with all the town names and ticking off the ones you've been to.

This thread is the surfing equivalent of counting and listing every chick you have rooted to date...

Didn't go to work today cos I've got an important assignment due this arvo.

So I went for a surf this morning.

And now this bloody thread; started counting but stopped after a while and started reminiscing. All those sessions in all those places. Waves I hadn't thought about for ages. And the people that I surfed them with. What great memories!

Jeez I got two hours to hand this bastard in and I'm thinking about waves I caught 20 years ago.

F*ck you Grazza.

F*ck you!

I second 2nd Reef's comments. F**k you, grazza! I filled two foolscap pages with spot names then gave up.

but then I thought, I will think of an even worse head f**k...what are the names of all the people you've ever surfed with? The ones you know of course.

ha ha ha try that one for size grazza. we are revenged I believe.

OK Grazza!

Combining NC's and Salty's posts you have to name all the blokes you've ever surfed with AND all the girls you've ever rooted.

Make the lists and post em on here.

Careful not to get the two mixed up now....

A cool thing to count up on a friday arvo when the clock is ticking down..

North Is NZ - 33
South Is NZ - 43
Samoa - 5
Indo - 14
NSW - 88
Vic - 7
QLD - 6
WA - 4
SA - 5

Total - 205 But there are probably more (actually 206 now I come to think of it)
A wise older mate said to me once that everytime you travel you should go somewhere different. Not everyones cup of tea I know but I have found it really rewarding over the last year or so.

i like the idea of trying name all the surfers you've surfed with, but does that mean just surfers you went to a spot and paddled out with or everyone you knew in every lineup? what if you were on your way in and met someone in the shorey and said g'day, does that count as surfed with?
