Then check this anonymous charger pulling in to macking Tombies.

At the 2 minute mark. Just after Tamayo's wave.

wanto, why is that? :?
Is it to do with skimming across the surface  Then the abrupt halt and subsequent engulfing by the wave :? :?

Dean Bowen is charging - he seems to be having a real dig in solid surf.

Watching that video makes me feel like a pussy.

I agree, getting slammed into the wave face at speed does hurt and sting, and leaves you hurting a little after.

And to then cop the hold down and thrashing that that thing would give you  I wouldn't wanna be in his position :!:

firstly, the initial impact is harder because you've got momentum.
secondly you might go flying for 5 meters in the barrel when you get flung.
thirdly, you have less control over where you end up and will often end up upside down in the worst spot.

That guy musta got on that wave up towards Centres cause he's already going warp speed where he pulled in on the normal take off ledge at Tombies. View woulda been worth the smashing and at least he was behind the lip and not part of it.

Majic footage.......
Spot on...It's the holy grail if you can get one from Centres and make it through the barrell at Tombstones, its not made very often. Not only is it difficult as hell to make the section but you have the crowd at the Tombies ledge waiting to drop in!

Ditto

But it's also good to see that Froggy Bowen is finally getting some exposure. He took down a few big guns at chopes in the trialls this year, and won king of the groms a few years ago. Just good that he is finally getting some recognition.
