i don't know why i read this thread, makes me

work in the city 8.30-5.30 so no chance of mid-week in the winter..

the occasional 'orthodontist' appointment gives me a couple of late starts, as do paid sickies..

other than that, i guess i'm the spastic floundering around on the weekends..

anyone need another roommate to fill a room around DY?

It take committment

If you want it bad enough you will have it, how dedicated are you?

Hearing tales of 9-5 sends shivers up me spine.

Live down south, kangaroos in the back yard, work for myself doing freelance boating & entrepenurial stuff and generally surf when it's on.Had one solo session last week in 3-4ft A frames which left me so satisfied i couldn't be bothered this week.Sound idyllic? maybe it is but it takes hard work and it doesn't happen overnight but it will happen if you want it bad enough.

Now how sick of flappin around in shit quality on weekends with crowds are you?

Gee, I'm one of the few suckers in the 8.30-5.30 grind. I work as a production editor/manager/chief of staff in a PR agency but have an editing/publishing background.

There's a chance of an early before work, but with 2 young kids I don't get nearly enough sleep as it is  I should just harden the fcuk up and get stuck into it I guess.

In the medium to long term there's scope for working for myself as an editor (hardly any publishers pay for in-house eds any more), but the thought of going out on my own is a little scary - at least until the mortgage is under control.

'Til then, I'm just your (very) average weekend warrior I guess...

She just said yes! :D

Surf should be workable but it could be sheeit for all I care considering the lack of time I spend doing it. Sometimes just having a splash around is therapeutic enough.

I'm a freelance copywriter - I write any kind of persuasive guff, also internal communications.

So lots of flexible hours, and I tend to surf weekdays around 9-12.

e.g. Monday at around 11.00 at Queenscliff was lovely.

But as others have said in this thread, if ya wants ya flexible hours ya gotsta earn em.
