About 5 mins from South Steyne, but mostly jump in the car and head to regions further North.

Close enough for anything metal to rust and corrode.

I can vouch for the point that once you live outta sight of the surf you get more surfing done. Gotta reward the effort to get to the beach with a surf.

Living so close has turned me into a wave snob.

Good view but.

Near Hornsby, so 30-40 on a decent day.

I always thought it'd be like a full-time holiday to live near the beach, doesn't matter how bad school or work would be you could come home, go for a walk or swim at the beach, wake up and walk onto the sand in a couple of minutes.

So many people that grew up and still live near the beach take it for granted - you guys should appreciate it!

(yes, I'm planning the move - just as soon as I can convince the girl to buy a place on the NB)

30mins, north shore area and all - guess i'm a blow-in anywhere

A little snippet to make you feel better though - my mate had a dude from norway living with him whilst at uni..

Back home he said he had to drive 6 or 7 hours to get to the coast - they usually made weekends of it - and the surf wasn't that good (or warm) that far north..

kinda made sense that he struggled a bit at curly on an above-average day..

About 6 blocks away.

It is true that this makes you a hell of a lot more selective as to when you surf. Too easy to be lazy. It ain't all bad living away from the beach. Trust me on that. I reckon you guys who've got to travel may well get more surf time than I do. Not that I want to swap locations though...

If its raining in winter then 30 minutes.
If its clear in winter then 25 minutes.
Summer and sunny, 45minutes
Summer and raining, 35minutes.

Driving around in summer is so relaxing. Unlike those winter mornings where you just want to get in the water and pee in your wetty
