I love global warming.
Mate, the only way your going to learn is being out there, plus on perfect day's its alot easier to surf than some storm onshore slop. They underline - yet again - my fervent wish that I could actually surf, instead of being a surfboard owner who elects not to drown himself on days such as these.
I'm working my way up - am now quite happy in 5ft waves, with the odd larger set, but the big days of the last month have been a bit much...Luke wrote:I love global warming.

I take your point, but there's pushing your limits to a manageable degree, and then there's downright deliberate self-harm.
Kinda like learning to box and deciding the best way to improve is by taking on a couple of really hard kids hanging around the Roseville shopping centre, listening to J-Mo tunes

JuBu, you are not alone in holding that opinion. Count me in.JuBu wrote:... there's pushing your limits to a manageable degree, and then there's downright deliberate self-harm.

Nice shots.
If you were at Deadies mid-morning, you have witnessed one truly heavy beat-down directed toward my poor self. Yellow board, grey fins (one was ripped off, finsaver and all) and one hugely bruised ego. Copped the fury of a full 9 wave set (I counted) on the head after taking the first one. Theres nothing like hearing the whistles and shouts from the headland warning of the approaching walls of water to freeze the blood. I ended up down near Winki, mono-finned. Any pics of that magnificent feat of surfing?
