how sick was the surf in vicco this weekend!!

Post by Squidlips » Sun May 06, 2007 3:13 pm

thankyou huey !!!

some serious juice in vic this weekend!! offshore and over solid4ft on saturday, and on sunday same but with bom sets to close on 6ft and peeling perfectly due to the light offshores.

i was out at juc on sun and it was pretty heavy, only 8 people out!! besides the comp. which is soooo rare for juc. sets every 2-3 mins and wide clean up's every 10 or so!!

looking to bells i could see mountains of water peeling perfectly and this was from out the back at juc, i was tempted to go and just take some snaps of bells, but after a 4 hour sesh, didnt have the energy.

bells must have been sick!! did any one surf it????? 8)

This was 13th on Mon Morning

ringo,

juc was lush on sunday with the incoming tide, perfect late drop lefts, with a smackable close section and hardly any one out (apart from the comp).

it was proper surf for once !!! 8)

I went to Pt Leo on Saturday afternoon. One word. Magic.

It was absolutely pumping, Crunchies, Suicides, Second Reef they were all going off and waves were bresaking all over. I lost count of how many I caught it was that bloody good. There were heaps, and I mean heaps of surfers there too but with that many waves everyone was getting stoked.

I can't remember the last time I saw Pt Leo this good. Flinders and the Ocean beaches may have been too choppy with the strong winds but in the sheltered areas in Westernport it was heaven. I reckon even the Pines at Shoreham would have been epic.

The autumn winter swells have arrived! It's good to be in Vic!

I really wish I could claim it, but a mate called up before I was about to leave and talked me into trekking down the coast with him. Was fuckin' SPEWING when I saw the pics up today! Still, I scored some nice barrels, nothing like the looks of those pics though!

Pt Leo was like that on Sunday arvo. Not quite as big but it was breaking like that in 4 places. I was cackling like a hyena paddling out, nothing like a smorgasboard!

This swellnet forecast for my neck of the woods is making me dribble as the missus has a baby shower on all day Saturday!

Sat: Inconsistent 5-6ft+ surf on the open beaches easing during the day (possible 8ft bombs in the morn). Inconsistent 3-4ft+ surf at Flinders easing during the day. Inconsistent 2ft+ surf inside Western Port with the incoming tide. Light to moderate N'ly winds early morn, but then tending NE'ly during the day.
Sun: 4-6ft surf on the open beaches easing during the day. 3-4ft surf at Flinders easing during the day. 2ft surf inside Western Port with the incoming tide. Moderate N'ly winds becoming fresh from the N/NW during the afternoon and evening
