Well said country. Like I said in my first post, Thanks to your dad. I reckon we young kids that haven't seen a BIG war don't respect the actions of those previous and present ANZACS enough. Thank your dad for me on ANZAC day.

I agree with all here...

The SAS would probably rather be sent there for the right reasons! Also, they definitely swear an 'oath'. Very good points...

Something to think about though when the media is beating the PM or whoever down... I guess the 'have' to go regardless of if they believe in the oath or not...

Working in the morning, television waits for no man, then having a couple of quiet ales. Usually go around and tip a beer on the father in-laws grave, ex machine gunner in New Guinea. Might wander up the pub for a game of two-up. I always try and watch some part of the march as well.

Take a chill pill Purple, have you ever been to an RSL on ANZAC Day? That is what all the old and new diggers are doing, drinking to fallen comrades. Most mess halls are puting on functions and as far as most of them are concerned they are honouring their comrades by having a drink to them. Straight after the dawn service its schooners with rum chasers - that's the tradition.

Dawn service in the city, few drinks staright after.

Shoot out west to witness the annual "poker run" and tag along.

BBQ and beers for the rest of the arvo and watch the mayhem unfold.

Evening, just follow the crowd to pub of choice...........top day.

Why try and psycho analyse "the large red" when all i was doing was helping the poor ignorant purple twat to read. I was performing a community service the same way vets(non war types) do in putting down stray unwanted animales.
P.s cheers ringmaster

dawn service at DY RSL or War Vets, maybe the War Vets this year.
Surf somewhere, then back to the RSL for schooies and 2-up!!

Usually drive up to Port Mac and pick up my Grand Pa and drive him 3 hours west back to his country town he was born at to march, but due to Anzac day falling on Wednesday, i cant manage it with work...
Next year old fella!!
