When you guys finalise the etiquette, you must include a Puff-The-Magic-Dragon clause.

Something like "the rider first to his/her feet and/or on the inside of the wave shall be considered the owner of said wave unless Puff-The-Magic-Dragon appears on the shoulder. The rider, out of respect, shall then give said wave to Puff"

Sandy Beach on Oahu

Post by chrisb » Mon Feb 09, 2004 7:33 pm

Sandy Beach on Oahu has a nasty shorebreak. More hospital cases come from Sandy Beach than from all the other beaches (including Waimea) on Oahu combined.

shit... that's the toughest decision.... they both are fucking nuts.... what about keiki.. that's pretty insane.. this hawaii seasion it was something like 15ft.. you know in nf 6 the keiki shorey break.. it was like 6ft just fucking around on the shore ahnd skip smashed his elbow... it was like 2 times bigger nearly... but still both those breaks are crazy

Mutant beasts

Post by spotty » Mon Feb 09, 2004 9:11 pm

Both waves are mutants. I suspect Waimea is the heavier.Wedge has a big backwash that creates an illusion.Personally i would'nt trifle with either!

Anybody who tries surfing any of those waves are nutzo and looking for a broken neck.
You can keep it !!!!
There's something I love about seeing gutsliders getting trashed...

have body surfed waimea shorebreak and have watched the wedge before. both places could kill you. my younger brother is a regular at sandy beach, he lives about 10 minutes away from there and sees injuries happen now and then. pound for pound hawaiian waves have more power than mainland US surf.

whats unique about the wedge is the wave comes in from one direction hits the jetty and starts moving in another direction before it breaks. its a real freak of nature to watch.

Wahahahahhah! Strewth, dem pics had me choppers nearly fall out as I cacked meself stupid. There's nothin funnier than imaginin the slammin those buggerz were about to endure. The 'superman' effort and the one of the booger almost up above the lip and close to the shore brought me tears of happiness. Excellent stuff. And for a decision on the heavier wave, please post the comments of those in the pics ya posted. I'm sure dem comments would be excruciatingly comical. Reminds o the ol joke about what goes thru a bugs mind when he hits a car windscreen!!!
