A different issue i know, but one just as high in the suissues to deal with, rfers list of and one that is just as likely to go unresloved. Surely you are not going to tell me that the wave at the pass is a 'black run, experienced surfers only'? Hundreds and hundreds of surfers surf together every day sometimes crowded and sometimes less so and there are few incidents of real note. I feel sorry for the young fellow and his family, as i feel sorry for the guy who died at my local of a broken neck when he got dumped in a fast shorey. He was an experienced surfer from interstate. I seem to recall at the time that some local rags were looking for some kind of warning system to alert for surfers of potential dangers, as if we didn't know. How about a little common sense.

Sent you a pm. However, it's just occurred to me you mean my avatar (the equivalent to your happy turtle.)
That is of Dunnottar Castle on a headland in the North Sea. about 3 klms south of Stonehaven which is about a half hour drive south of Aberdeen.
It's the old family castle (ruins  )
Used for a lot of scenes in that Mel Gibson movie of Braveheart.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Probably the best way would be have different coloured gear for example, if you an oldie or been at the break forever you will be wearing OKANUIS... evry1 will know who you are.
if you are 1 of those thats only been ya home break 10 to 20yrs bong rip quik and whoever are all fine(as long you pay 60plus for em).
the rest will be in SPEEDOS, dick stickers or whateva ya call em. this will encourage learning surfer to quickly progress.

this would all be solved very quickly if surfboards were illegal and everyone just bodyboarded. not that I really want that to happen, just sayin'

Edit: and really this whole regulation thing you guys are suggesting is bullshit. If there's someone kooking things up, tell them about it. Send them in if necessary. That's all that needs to be done. Cops? 'elders'? Fcuk off.

On another note, this never happens in WA. Sucks to be on the east coast   8)

The marshals?
Oh theyre the ones in green and gold with OZ flag rashies and the southern cross tats.
No offence to local boardriding clubs but thats a bit like giving bikies the right to tell scooter riders what to do :D :D Anywhere it could work it doesn't need to be done.

At Bondi the mal club should be Marshals. This will keep them busy while everyone else gets a wave :D :D

I think we should have different colours for everyone. National colours would make things simpler of course. Different colours for lawyers and off duty cops, real estate agents and local businessmen?

Great idea. I think they would look great with big white ten gallon hats in the line up and a big star on their boards.

get mick fanning launch ad's trying spell out how best learn

it can be paid for from all comercial interests in surfing

u know....i really do believe if fanning was on t.v and papers going

''HEY, you the kook in the ( edit, not anti anyone as requested) , fu.ck off and surf the beachie"

or words such effect, it could really help stop the carnage

the other

legal action against the surf school, the instructer, the people who hire the boards and the indivual who caused the injury and the council who allows said activitys

i'd hate see that, as not all surf instructers are really bad people

but the daY may come........

i hope the kids healing :(

p.s and merkin....your lost weight

How dare you say that's me?

I never wear red.

On topic there has to be an intimidation/fear factor for beginners that if you fcuk up you're going to cop it somehow ..... ( no pun intended homophobes) whether it be an embarrassing verbal put down and possibly being "ordered in" up to a real threat of physical violence.

It's the only way anyone learns.

Forget the cops / fines etc. That's never been in the equation and as it was pointed out b4 it would be a sad day if it were.

i don't know the answer, but intimidation/fear factor is best left too those who sell that angle, it's not the best way introduce people too wave riding imo
