The board's not the limiting factor by a far margin for now so I'll be sticking to it. And I have seen pics of a certain Brazillian ripping on a Thai pop out mini mal in almost double overhead Indo. Though he could probably make any board look good.

But, but ... the guy in the surf shop said I shouldn't buy anything larger than 6' if I wanted to progress ... :P
A Brazilian on a mini mal? The famous Bra minimal rider?

Chest high and completely glassy DY. High volume fish was perfect out there. Infrequent sets but low crowds = super fun session

it made a big difference indeed. though today's slow moving fat swell didn't offer the chance to really feel it out. first impressions, is that the TA bonzer fin turns a lot stiffer and tighter, much more 'acute'. which felt (today) to be a disadvantage.

whereas, the longer deeper raked backed fin seemed to be a lot more forgiving, and smoothed out thru turns and perhaps more suited to the smallish conditions of late.

today was a particulary sluggish swell though. hopefully this weekend's swell delivers some size and punch so i can give the TA fin a proper test out.

Found a Halco Laser Pro on the beach this morning.
The one in colours that works, too.

Also got some small fun waves to myself for hours.
Tide, swell, wind, sand and rock conspired to turn not much into something that was unpredictable but occasionally pretty bloody fun.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Weird session at my regular yesterday. The first two waves I caught were the longest rights I have ridden there. Takeoff, then it goes into slow motion city like you are standing still but once get past the first flat bit the wave opened up nicely.

Then absolutely nothing after the first two waves. Caught a tiny one and I went "can't end the session like this", so went back and waited for one more. 30 mins later ... still waiting. Ended up catching a straighthander in. Bah.

Well this goose who did a reo/cutback or something on top of me yesterday could have fractured my skull when his board hit me in the head. Then he landed on top of me #*!
This has seriously dampened my enthusiasm for having a crack again today since the conditions are worse and just as crowded. I blame the bowlarama.
Everyone was acting scatty down the beach yesterday.
