Yesterday Steve’s untangling a learners legrope for him. Today he’s running over another one. Looks like he was right about everyone moving to Byron. Sounds like Bondi on a Sunday.
Speaking of which…..super crowded and tiny this morning. Paddled out in front of the Pavilion cause it looked slightly less crowded. Ended up getting heaps of little runners and for some reason nearly everyone decided to paddle further south and left the bank nearly empty as the tide dropped and it got better.

Found myself surfing 3-4ft Point surf today with 3 other guys.

I must have rode 30 set waves.

They missed the best bit- perspective misses the basalt headland.

Ah, still great perspective. I miss it up there. Used to go all the time, learned to surf at the Wreck with my cousins (who lived in the street behind woolies in Byron). Every hols I'd catch the XPT and spend weeks up there. Then, on tour I'd be playing by night and surfing by day that way all the time. It's been way too long. Even that little bit of road in the pic sparks some great memories.

Mind you, I'd avoid Byron like the plague these days. Which is I guess why everyone moved there

I remember some wheelchair xylophonist getting all macho about how he liked to smash absolutely heaps of Weetbix before a hard day's roofing

There is a renowned spot near us that I walk the dog by most mornings. Always get a horrible feeling there.

it's strange thing- the westpac chopper flies right over our house when there's been a jump- which is pretty fcuking regularly.

Cops and SES in the carpark but not a word about it.

Fat crock.
No one out because it was pretty rubbish.
Didn’t want to look further north as probably crowded.
Had a terrible surf and then found this rip bowl that was hard to sit on but once you worked it out was quite fun.
Redeemed the first hour of frustration.

I had a very frustrating surf there yesterday.

Very, very hollow for the dawny this morning but super frothy crowd.

Yep same here, fairly regular occurrence apparently but hardly ever reported on.

Can you imagine the state of mental despair you have top be in where jumping to your death over rocks is the better option. :(

Fuck, that's gotta be worse.
Imagine being physically wrecked and having to explain to people you tried to top yourself.
I think if I was the paramedic I would have helped them over the rainbow bridge.
