NBs, crowded with jobkeepers and jobseekers so had to choose a lesser break - not a bad end to the week.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
had a fantastic surf. Quite early, super clean, really manicured easterly swell slightly crossed from the south angle, cold light offshore winds. Perfect bank for the swell, lefts peeling off a reef into sand, occasional rights crossing the grain. The water was the colour of the green glass of a wine bottle. On a bank where 25 people had been surfing in 2’ dribble the day before, just three or four people, all of whom seemed unable to get their heads around the quality, kinda blowing turns, getting caught behind etc. A couple went in, a couple came out. Where were the crowds of the past three months? Fcuk, I thought don't ask questions.
Something happened about two hours into it, maybe the tide crept up a bit but some of the perfection disappeared. An hour or so later the wind turned.
I kinda feel there's a solid pulse yet to show up here but maybe it will come overnight.

My NB sorta looked like NC's break around 10am (hence the crowd) and then by midday all gone.

Had a look at Tama/Bronte. Just in time to see two guys have their legropes snapped and both have to swim into the rocks to try and retrieve their boards. One on the Bronte side wAs successful but might have lost a bit of bark in the process. One on the Tama side appeared to give up with the board getting washed into the cave where it would get the Fcuk smashed out of it.
A few guys way out at Tama on what looked like an okay left.

man it's been good up here today. Steam training 6' plus lefts and a few rights, a bit ragged but thick, a couple of reefs kinda almost there but not quite. The Jed is on fire, so much so that I'm gonna stop surfing it, it's too good to waste on anything but the finest.

Yet another crappy onshore surf. Looked like it might have been okay for quick footed Goofys on the dredgy inside bit. Waves were peaky but nearly all had this odd double up bit just behind the main peak. You would paddle over the main wave and find a half size peak that often belted the crap out of you. On bigger ones it would throw over the main peak.

Good fun this morning at my local. Dropped off after an hour or so though.
Only a small crew, plus two awesome Australasian Gannets, swooping and skimming around the lineup.
One skimmed past me at arms length. beautiful birds.
Water was a bit cold though. (for up here anyway). Winter is great.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Super fun 4' beachies this morning, clean
Surfed the new 10 channel, what a dangerous surfboard that thing is, I think I will call it the Shark.
Actually I will call the 6'9" version the White Shark and this one can be the Bull Shark.
