ODE TO ROYBOY THE TROLL I reckon your a troll. I feel it in me waters ,friend.

The channels of a mind possessed…
True colors cannot be accessed

Drifting in social deconstruction
The brain soon capitulates to total destruction…

And discourse may rob us of our time
But Royboy there is something more sublime…

Then voices of discontent
That drifts upon our continent

For it is I that will rest upon your sole
To empty out that wicked troll

That was a good link KK, it raises a hell of a lot of interesting questions.

I reckon if people who want to protest on any issue actually offered some tangible solutions that might be a good start to being effective.

In my opinion there was a lack of that in the whole APEC thing. So many groups had so many gripes it all became a little fuzzy as to what they were trying to say and in the end they had to pour all their noise back onto the old police brutality chestnut to get their slice of the attention pie.

Take Iraq for example. I didnt really agree with the invasion but its done now. I thinks its pretty clear that if the occupying forces withdrew the place would erupt into civil war though, so yelling "stop the war" lacks a little focus in my eyes.

No Clif I didnt place you in the same league as all those people you have mentioned. Again I was referring to the methods used to get views across by both sides and not their actions. Take a deep breath mate.

I thought that one of the more disgusting things to come out of APEC and its various gatherings was when I saw Bob Hawke greet Hu Jintao and give him a hug. Didnt Bob get on Television and cry after Tianemen Square?

What do I belive? I believe that the media need to go back to doing their job and report FACTS and not a slanted opinionated piece on the news of the day. That way people can form their opinions without prejudice. I think that the media is a disgrace in the way it operates and it is having a profound effect on society and not in a good way.

I dont believe there is a lot of difference in the major parties politics and policies these days. I used to like some of what the Democrats had to say but they obviously faded away to nothing. As for the Greens I find them to be short on actual solutions and long on whining to get their melons in the media spotlight. Goes back to effective solutions I guess.

I reckon why a lot of people protested, and this goes back to part of one of 2nd reef's posts is that they were looking for something to capture that warm fuzzy feeling. They were looking for an opportunity to feel good about themselves. Im not trying to say that in a hateful way, after all thats why most of us surf. Its all about the good feeling it gives you no?

There are some quite insightful people on the forum, and you have chosen to ignore most of what they had to say and i think you are still missing the point maaaaaate and i can't believe you are still trying it on.

You have some salient points but alot of it is incoherent to me.

Next freaking topic pleeeease!

ps I didn't know that Hu Jintao was responsible for the T-Mass.

Ok I'll do it.

Firstly RE: the media. Despite what the media tells itself about being the fourth estate, monitoring the seats of power, media outlets are businesses. They get money through advertising. Advertisers pay more money the business that has the largest audience. The more sensationalist / popular a report / story / show the more audience it generates. Hence blown up news stories.

2ndly:

Those action groups and individuals have MANY suggestions, solutions ideas etc, its just that the vast bulk of them are unacceptable to those individuals and groups that form the "power elite" in western capitalist socities, because the solutions eroded their position / power in said societies.

Case Study: Alternative fuel sources for cars. Look into it.

Apropos nothing at all,

It seems likely that more than a million Iraqis have been killed in the war. Current estimates closer to 1.2 million.

Alan Greenspan voiced his opinion yesterday that "it was about the oil."

I don't really believe in the concept of evil as such, but damn this comes close.

There is plenty to protest about.

How good was the "officers individually removed their name badges so as they could not be used as weapons because they are sharp and have pins in them that protesters could use as weapons" line being pushed when all of the footage clearly shows that the uniforms have the facility to attach velcro name badges, but that these strips where all, repeat ALL absent of names!

Coincidence??????

I can see with your delusional and sometimes misrepresented mind that you have taken my message to be one of romantic union.

Nothing can further from the truth
That carcass I bring… a Trojan horse shall be.
..and while you sleep in mothers bed
I will creepy crawl into your life under the cover of darkness
… and just like a spider devours its prey
shall turn your sole to liquid for quick silent anesthetized extraction.

P.S I’m halfway there and you don’t even know it. Image

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you,
KK you couldn't get much higher,
Come on KK light my fire,
Come on KK earn my ire,
Come and meet your true desire,

The time for poetry is through,
No time to wallow in these forums,
Unfortunately I've work to do,
And so I'll leave you with decorum.
