Watched Sth Boomerang last year at size. Nearly went out but watched one old guy come in and have a spew on the beach. He looked fcuked. Big peaks outside that day.

Three hour session at a south coast reef at shoulder to head high plus with only five or six others out. Surfed the custom 6'4 single.
Back to work tomorrow

Surely they'd be loads of whiting and salmon lurking around in those gutters.

No doubt we'll be seeing you in the nulla some time soon. Looking forward to casting the eye over your new single.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Bet it was. I traded off a bit of size for a lesser crowd today. Got my adrenalin fix yesterday out at boomerang.
Bonzer day or desert storm Steve ?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I don't surf the point that often, but I'd be keen to take the new single out in some 4-6 foot surf. I love the wave but it all gets a bit cliquey out there, with a tight take off zone and I can't be bothered asserting myself that much. I like surfing the point when it's got some size but also a bit of wind and bump (i.e; uninviting looking) as I tend to get a lot more waves.
Was thinking of hitting the beachies there today but gathered i was better off on a reef down south with some wind protection.

Good call. I'm not sure how far south, but where ever you were down there would've been solid. I'm hoping there was somewhere that was out of the wind of you.Hatchnam wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 7:14 pmI don't surf the point that often, but I'd be keen to take the new single out in some 4-6 foot surf. Re: Where did you surf today ?
About half hour south of the gong. It was reasonably solid, but its quite protected from the brunt of south swells, so nothing too gnarly. It was clean and fun with still some overhead meaty ones with a crunchy inside bowl keep to things interesting.
I was tempted to stay up boomerang for another day while this swell is running, but yesterday arvo there were more shutdowns than makeable ones, so I came back down south for more/better
options.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
actually holy fcuk, that made me think just how weird a good wave generator could be. A flawless 300-metre wave in a closed warmwater environment would just FCUK YOU UP for everyday surfing.
I mean I have had that thought before...but something like that coupla weeks of Jeffreys really brings you into contact with it.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
pretty well documented syndrome isn;t it? ]
Guys and gals go to Indo come back and turn their nose up at the local for a anything up to 6 months.
I also have experience with the opposite syndrome after spending a few months in England surfing mostly Bournemouth and Boscombe pier. Coming back and surfing NE slop here by myself like it was a benediction.
