I just paid a deposit on one of the packages. I went for the “Lil’ Bro.”
The house is OK and the land is shit but I get a lifetime premium membership to Surfline and Nick will give me 3 months of surf tuition.
Plus I’m guaranteed that TC will drive up for every swell and paddle me in to whichever set wave I want.
Fine print actually says TC drops in on you on any half decent looking wave you’ve waited patiently for.
Doesn’t drop in…”Let’s share it!”

Surely worthy of a swellnet article on the whole deal, if you willing to go there?

Then after the smoke clears Realsurf will be the only source for legitimate surf information and Don will have finally cornered the market.
Brilliant long term strategy.

I’m kind of uncomfortable about making these moral judgements on how people earn their income.
I’ve had people on this forum have a dig because I worked for a big mining company. Clearly these people never need steel or copper or batteries or…….
And then there’s Steve, who is paid by a company who has surf cams all over the country. I don’t make any moral judgement about him based on that, but it seems a bit hypocritical to make judgements about how other people earn a crust from the surf industry. You’re all feeding from the same trough at the end of the day.

Agreed ... other more aggrieved about the perceived greed, a greed.

It's more about detailing the big tech players (former execs of Amazon and Apple) and American venture capital behind Surfline and Caroll, and the ethics of writing puff pieces while siblings are involved in local real estate deals.

Whole different kettle of fish compared to an Australian owned and run small business.

But yeah, point taken.

You’re open about your mining work.
It’s more about pretending it’s something that it’s not.

Yeah, I get that, and Steve’s stance, but it’s not somewhere I’d go without a sense of humour.

That’s my take. It’s not like you are spruiking mining.⛏️ Having a dig is fine. That’s what we do around here. As you can see once we strike a vein of hypocrisy it’s picks out.

These big tech and venture capitalist crew are not brine brothers- they are not good people.

But they love to sugar coat everything in virtue signalling language to prove their progressive bonafides.
