Just doing some research on Surfline- wow, Nick has really jumped onboard with some gnarly Corporate tech cnuts.
Shearer’s OverReach?
Doesn’t drop in…”Let’s share it!”buddy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 7:01 amFine print actually says TC drops in on you on any half decent looking wave you’ve waited patiently for.jimmy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 12:51 amI just paid a deposit on one of the packages. I went for the “Lil’ Bro.”
The house is OK and the land is shit but I get a lifetime premium membership to Surfline and Nick will give me 3 months of surf tuition.
Plus I’m guaranteed that TC will drive up for every swell and paddle me in to whichever set wave I want.
Surely worthy of a swellnet article on the whole deal, if you willing to go there?steve shearer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 10:30 amJust doing some research on Surfline- wow, Nick has really jumped onboard with some gnarly Corporate tech cnuts.

Agreed ... other more aggrieved about the perceived greed, a greed.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 2:04 pmI’m kind of uncomfortable about making these moral judgements on how people earn their income.
I’ve had people on this forum have a dig because I worked for a big mining company. Clearly these people never need steel or copper or batteries or…….
And then there’s Steve, who is paid by a company who has surf cams all over the country. I don’t make any moral judgement about him based on that, but it seems a bit hypocritical to make judgements about how other people earn a crust from the surf industry. You’re all feeding from the same trough at the end of the day.
You’re open about your mining work.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 2:04 pmI’m kind of uncomfortable about making these moral judgements on how people earn their income.

Yeah, I get that, and Steve’s stance, but it’s not somewhere I’d go without a sense of humour.buddy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 2:14 pmYou’re open about your mining work.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 2:04 pmI’m kind of uncomfortable about making these moral judgements on how people earn their income.

It’s more about pretending it’s something that it’s not.
