Nasty wipeout.. And a super-human effort paddling back out.foamy wrote:The heaviest wipeout seemed to be experienced by Adam Melling. Absolutely Smashed!
Still, he paddled back to the takeoff. Guts.

There was an earlier comment from a poster suggesting that they prefer to watch pro-contests held in waves that they would ride themselves. I am the opposite - I prefer to watch pro surfers in nasty waves like The Box that I would NEVER contemplating going out in and, despite seemingly impossible odds, making it through.......Cape Solander for a WSC event anyone?

Why are they stretching it out so far? Is it an advertising / contract thing? Only 3 heats left for the men but it sounds like they're going to wait for the next swell on wednesday! They could've finished it yesterday in great surf. Why not finish it today with momentum? Some suggestion that Perrow wants to finish it at the Box. I would've thought finishing on a weekend would be way better for the viewer numbers, especially considering the pretty epic conditions available yesterday.

You think he's been over scored at main break?alakaboo wrote:Well considering main break rewards his habit of doing turns a foot below the lip I'd say the ledger is square.
Think I have JJF and Taj in the tipping
I've got JJF too, but that's it i think
Re: Margs
Owen did alright @ the box as a goofy.... Cloudbreak, Chopes and pipe last year, all heavy lefts, all natural footers won.
Granted they don't have the gnar factor of the box but still I don't reckon it is that much of a disadvantage to Nat. On big occasions he always seems to talk himself out of it anyway.

and if not finish the men's off, they could've sent the next round of the women's out or did they want to avoid embarrassment if they went down that path - absolutely flawless huge conditions went to wasteblack duck wrote:Why are they stretching it out so far?
