Re: Pic of the day
The first day of spring in tassie, Sept 1, 2013.
It'd been raining for 3 weeks straight and I was sick with the H1-N2 flu virus for the best part of 3 months.
I remember my legs were weak in the carpark waiting for the sets to come and I'd have to bend my knees and rest them. I surfed after breakfast, barely made it out the back, caught one wave where even out on the open face I couldn't get out of a pigdog stance from muscle waste and lethargy.
Came in after that one wave smiling, came back down with the dog and watched Tyler Holmer-Cross and Marti P pull into low tide closeouts for an hour.
It was a good day.

Re: Pic of the day
... you woulda loved this left. Fickle and mostly a glorified closeout on anything but the top third of the tide. But fast and hollow.

That the neck, braithy?
Beanpole
You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

got a swag of great tesso's pics somewhere, and boneyards too, in hard photo form, how i rolled in '89/90...used to take a kodak waterproof out with me both deckying and surfing, strapped around the neck to get shots. packs of them lying in boxes.

nah skip, the other pic is about 3kms north of tesso's ... through private property to get there. It was literally my back fence.
Surfed it good twice. Took a tinnie from the boat ramp near the jetty and scaled around there because the reef was full of lid riders. Soooo sharky. We got back to the boat which was anchored way out the back and the outboard wouldn't start. Something big slammed the bottom of the boat while we were trying to get it going.
The other time, I paddled out off the rocks, did a cliff jump in the water ... two guys were coming a little later in the same tinnie. Surfed it by myself for 45 minutes. If it wasn't super consistent that time, I mighta freaked out waiting for sets just thinking about what's underneath. We'd seen an orca about a week ago, and it dawned on me, there was absolutely nowhere to paddle to. Waves smashing into a cliff was the only option.
