The bar has been on for four days, the usual crowd has surfed themselves out. This morning most were noticeable no shows this morning. It was one of those soul beckoning mornings with a midsize classic surf to boot. Four hours of a session that filled the endorphin basket and my surfing matched it well.

Jaffa, I'm opinionated, and I'm sometimes right. So?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Steve, you should have belted the bloke over the head and took his outer islands for the wife. A bit of a grubby thing to do but perfect timing for you.steve shearer wrote:I surfed electric blue head high gurgly pointbreak. it was intriguing with all kinds of rapid fire join the dots vectors popping up on the wave face as S'ly groundswell, short range ESE windswell and wind chop all coiffed by a ten knot rain squall offshore and a super shallow sandbar conjoined. Plenty of bottom tension, heaps of easy speed.
snapped a leggie and got a foot full of urchin spines on the inside rocks.......thankfully a really nice bloke with an Outer Island rescued the board from getting battered on the rocks.
thanks mate.
P.S what sort of waves do you ride the octafish in?, and how does it like to be surfed??

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I've ridden it in all kinds of surf.....it does a great job in join the dots point surf, small runners of any kind or even some grunty beachy.
but like all bonzers it needs enough wave space to get right up to speed.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Had a surf at daybreak at far North end of Palm Beach yesterday.
Onshore 3 foot slop, more of a paddle than a surf, but I can cross Sydney off the places I've surfed list now.
First time on the Northern beaches and got to see virtually every nook and cranny of whole thing from Palm beach to Balmoral because I was tagging along as support to some fundraising walkers for a 50Km walk.
Never really stopped raining but had great day, beautiful coastline (and houses!).

He's just psyching up for his return Loofy.
Granted I wrote "technically" next to the tick, but it was 3 foot up the top end of Palmy.

I reckon he should have dropped in on Carroll on a 15ft paddle board then dominated the take off at Nth Narra on a hyptocrypto. Then he can say he's "done" the Nth Beaches.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
first surf back from surgery today. Nice little groundswell pulse from the SE. 2-3' max. surfed the Peak on the 5'3" vanguard. Surprised myself by the level of fear involved, the first wave I didn't dare put any weight at all on the back foot. But gradually overcame it and felt good on a couple of waves.
Kinda jumping the gun on it a bit, only three weeks out of surgery, but I am a long way ahead of the normal recovery so thought what the fcuk. just gotta surf, stretch, rehab, ice, repeat.

had a really sweet solo surf on a gurgly pointbreak just after Carissa's heat. Looked a few shades of dried up caca but the bank was so shallow it was meaty chaotic fun. Loving this twinzer.
then I got caught by a hammer section closeout on a surprisingly chunky wave and creased the damm thing.....boohoo.
my quiver is shrinking. my poor shrinking quiver being destroyed by the onslaught of this horrible, horrible world. make it stop Jesus.

It was pretty dire a few beaches down. Lack of waves plus crowds almost equals a free for all.Beanpole wrote:Nice conditions this afternoon.

How much punch does this current little swell have in her? I borrowed a board this morning and handed it back without fins. Lucky they got about 24 boards here, otherwise i'd have felt really bad.

Had a filthy little surf this arvo. It wasn't any good but man that water was dirty after the thunderstorm.

waist to shoulder high glassy little peaks. running, bowling, and best of all - barrelling for a fking change. no turns, just pulling in and scrunching yourself up into a tight enough ball to try and squeeze thru 'em, with varied success in doing so.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I thought the post-storm waters were clean but swell-wise it was really a case of the bottom falling out after too much scraping. I suppose I missed the low tide window.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yesterday after lunch, till about 3.30 pm.
Maybe max 3', ESE winds strengthening and strengthening
Really couldn't put a foot right.
This morning?
Offshore from around midnight. Same size swell, maybe a bit too easterly for my local but still some long rides.
Best surf in ages.
Nice and cool, too. About 16°. Well, cool for up here - it's not been under 20° for months.
Poor old Ledge is back from the island and shivering.
Please God. Same again tomorrow.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
