south coast

Post by Faniel » Sun Dec 07, 2008 11:20 pm

i have a week off last week of january,
might be able to get it way down south if Hatchman wants to meet me at the Mexican border.
otherwise i can courier it. but yeah dont want the Bat to miss out on those fickle waves that sometimes break down there.

Took the bat out yesterday and today in small windswell. I haven't been lucky at all with the bat!!, Today was much more clean, and had better shape, pretty much a shorebreak. Again paddling and wave catching are excellent. I used the fins supplied with the board. I agree on the speed, it is soooo fast!!. Once you intitate a turn it is pretty loose as well, it just whips around. I had trouble getting my feet right, but once i got them in the right spot, it was all good. THough im not used to a board like this, so that's just me. Again, pretty happy with it.

I am hoping to get one more surf in tomorrow, depending on when my operation is, and then i'll hand it back on faniel, and if lucky i might even get another go before it moves on.

That was f*cken gold. :P
Hahaha bit slow the fluffy, havent seen you around for a while, whats doing?

Anyway, last night I had some weird dream that when i handed over the Aqua Bat I had a different board inside the cover. So when I got home the aqua bat was sitting there on the floor. I was worried that someone thought i had stolen the board so i then went on to burn it all up so there was no evidence.

I think i need more sleep.

Beerfan has handed me back the Bat
however my 'Gammy' leg is playing up
(hence the leg rope on the back foot, so it doesnt get yanked too much)
but i have a mate who likes to ride alternative boards
and he surfs nearly every day, nearly regardless of conditions.
and he has mates as committed as that as well.
so the Bat will have riders in the Gong, I'd say another handful.
enough for a couple of weeks at least, while i rest my peg leg.
and until some one puts there hand up further south.

I may be heading down to Bawley Point on the Australia Day long weekend for a couple of days so if there is anyone in that area I could drop it off on my travels. Keep me posted later in Jan.

The Fat Bat is still flying.
i have the Bat and have beeh thoroughly enjoying it over this weekends swell.
Saturday arvo was fun with 3-4ft NEswell hitting the bank at my local just nicely and a brisk SWly blowing straight into the barrell opening them right up.
The Bat performed well, getting on to them early and flying down the line.

Sunday arvo was the pick though, when that south swell picked up to 6ft in a bout 2 hours.
T.O.S started cranking and that 'superbank' that has been lying dormant for a month.........
yes had a great surf Sunday arvo.

my mate is out there now on the Bat, its only about 2foot but he has been gone awhile
maybe better than it looks or he's riding the right board for the conditions

i have a few photos i've taken with my point and shoot. i will try and put them up later.

M.P u can P.M me anytime re board and photographer.
