jet skier busted at DY

Post by bombora » Fri Apr 18, 2008 12:58 pm

Couple of the boys in blue today busted the bloke who's often been making a pre work morning surf at DY so delightful with his jet ski antics over the past few months.
Don't know if anyone called the cops or they were just passing by, but they greeted him on the sand as he powered his multi coloured ski onto the beach between the point and beachie packs this morning.
Suspect someone called, as while leaving the surf I had a quick chat to one of the coppers who said the bloke had form for doing the same thing at Narra.
If he had just launched and zoomed off to uninhabited poles to jump waves _ he's a very good ski rider _ people probably would have left him alone.
But recently he's been doing his stuff bloody close to people.
And last week I reckon he tipped someone over the edge, as he was doin donuts about 20m directly in front of the clubhouse/kiddies peak, subjecting all to fumes, noise and wobbly wake waves.
I actually went up to him as I left the water on that occassion and, super politely, said, verbatim: "G'day mate, your'e a bloody good rider but do you know you are actually breaking the law and getting very close to people. It's pretty dangerous." Made sure the body language was nuetral, the tone of voice polite. His response was death stares, so I just shrugged and walked away, to the soundtrack of him going: "Fuck you fuck you fuck you".
Blokes' a strange unit. Mate of mine lives in the same DY block as this guy, and a few months ago saw him and passed on a small complaint from other people in the block about something really minor. My mate is the world's most polite guy but was greeted with this fella staying totally silent and spitting at his feet the entire time he tried to talk to him.
Jet ski man was giving the cops death stares too as they walked back with him this morning to his unit, I presume, to get his details.
Very very strange person.

Bombora, yeah was watching it unfold. At one stage I thought they were
just going to let him off with a chat
But I reckon he must have said something, because the cops attitude seemed to
change instantly with lots of chatter into the radio

Yeah annoyed the shit out of me this morning, those fumes reeek

Yep Butts thought the same thing. Think his 'tude may have changed the cops' minds. Scary lookin' guy close up: all mad eyes, muttered words and clenched teeth.
Yep Merry his flips were pretty good. Bit of respect and he probably could have kept doing his thing.
Wonder who made the call.

Flipping jetskiiers

Post by Biggun » Fri Apr 18, 2008 3:12 pm

speaking of flips, i saw a jetskiier do a front flip once, he was playing in the waves at pukeys reef and was generally stinking up the place when he accidentally got sucked over the falls, how i laughed.

When he resurfaced, he regained his composure for a bit while lying slupmed over his loathsome leisure tool and then he pissed off home - go huey!!!

Yeah I know Rockin, it's actually happened to me with this bloke down the poles a few times. Just had some heavy crap going down in past week and been trying hard to be a more tolerant fella. Ha.

Interesting profile for a jetski rider. I commend you for being so diplomatic Bommie. I'm increasingly edgy confronting people doing over the top stuff and disregarding their fellow citizens. Theres some twisted units out there.

Could have been any one of 100's of people who have been pissed off by his antics, myself included.

I was at The Poles a couple of weeks ago when the jerk came scooting through - he missed a board rider by less than 20 metres.

He should get one warning - the next time the cops should confiscate his ski..... permanently.

Didnt seem to stop him, as he was out again this morning! I watched him from atop the headland. He was all over the beach from Nthn to Stn end and back gain. It was a little crazy, when he started doing his thing out on Dee Why point around a couple of guys out on a break?

Are you allowed to Jet ski @ Dee Why?? Want aware that you were.

Anyone remember Leunig's cartoon and verse "Ode to a jetskier" ??

It mentions a "stinking leisure tool".

Ode to a Jet-Ski person

Jet-ski person, selfish fink.
May your silly jet-ski sink.
May you hit a pile of rocks,
Oh hoonish summer coastal pox

Noisy smoking dickhead fool,
On your loathsome leisure tool,
Give us all a jolly lark
And sink beside a hungry shark

Scream as in it’s fangs you go
Your last attention-seeking show
While on the beach we all join in
With “three cheers for the dorsal fin”

Michael Leunig

The man with his SUP,
Waits till the swells tiny,
Drives Beemers or Mercs,
You'd call him a jerk,
His wife's a hornbag.

Its' a work in progress.......

There once was this hero from Harbord,
who fancied himself as a waterlord,
A waterman so fit, yet he couldn't surf for sh!t
So he purchased a stand up paddle board.

Oh how I love my SUP,
It makes me look all sexxieee,
When the surf is nice and flat,
I'll take the thing right out the back,
My son, Terence, goes to Joeys.

There once was a shortboarder called Jack,
Who knew how to turn and cutback,
Who knew how to turn and cutback,
Who knew how to turn and cutback'
Who knew how ..........
