O.K fella's, out of the blue, it looks like someone might buy my kayak, leaving me with around 550 bucks to play with. Me and my mate are super keen to make our first board, BUT, my board is pretty dinged up and old, and is starting to get a new bruise, or crack in the rail every time i surf. Also, we want to take our time with the board, and if my board self destructs, i dont want to have to rush our first attempt, just so i have a board to ride.

Go the local shaper if you think he/they are worth the money. Off the shelf anything doesn't doesn't have the same feel to it than something you've had made especially for you, a one of a kind that's just yours.

Yeah I agree with Dae. Go buy a custom making your own will almost definetly screw up and youll be stuck with two pieces of shit boards....
