FCS I still patent protected?

is the FCS I system still patent protected? I like to produce some speciality fins for wake/river surfing with fcs I system.

I aint no lawyer but a guy I was talking to said FCS had the patent on the plugs not the fins themselves....also some crew was about to release knock off FCS2 fins with lawyers at the ready!

Im sure FCS I is out of patent date, you get about 20 years and then it's goes public. FCS had a court battle with another fin company who argued that if only FCS could make fins for their system then only one company should be able to make tyres for cars. Anyhow, it's all moot becuase with eBay you can buy from countries that haven't signed global Intelleacual Property agreements so they refuse to acknowledge patents trademarks or design ownership. However you can have the illegal material seized if it comes into the country. That's why you see cops raiding markets to grab knock off Nike clothes and the like.
