Vintage Board Restoration

Post by stinky_wes » Thu Sep 25, 2014 10:40 am

I'm looking at getting one of my dad's old boards repaired/restored. Does anyone know someone (preferably NSW) who does quality work and colour matching? It's got a decent ding from a fin on the underside and the swallow tail is a bit soft, but the rest only needs a light polish.

I should probably add that it's not your standard board but a '78 Jim Banks Clean Lines twinnie that dad had made for him while working at G&S. Cost or time isn't an issue.

I've chatted with Dave Platt about getting some work done but eventually abandoned the idea, lives Gosford/Central Coast area.

My vote would be Dave Platt - he does a good job!

Cheers Realsurfers. I'll get in touch with David and see what he can do me for.

If you live closer to the Northern Beaches of Sydney, try Craig from Splash Ding Repairs - 0421 101 678

Hes a really top guy and very good with the tools as well. I've seen photos of really sharp restorations hes done before.
