Repairing a snapped board

Having gone too close to rocks one too many times I snapped the tail just in front of the fin box on my 1980's 9'1" Mark Rabbidge board.

Although I am looking to buy another board I do like this board and am considering having it repaired. This depends on both cost and reliability.

So has anybody done this and what sort of cost should I expect and how likely is the repair to last (assuming no more abuse from me)

Any recommendations on repairers

If it helps I will try to attach some photos next weekend when I have time to work out how to do it.

Is it fixable?: Yes
Will it be costly?: Yes, most probably.
Will the repair make the board more prone to snapping?: Yes
Will the board be the same again?: No

You have kinda snapped it in the worst possible place.

Your call, but if it was me I would put the coin towards a new board.

It is one thing to snap a board up the nose, but when it is through the boards 'engine room' it is another story. Sorry to deliver some bad news, but it is reality.

That could be a Plan B.
20 years ago I would have done it myself but now I may just sell it for scrap to a backyarder. Too good to throw away.
